Mijke De Jong
Mijke de Jong (born 23 September 1959) is a Dutch film director, screenwriter and producer. She is known for creating films such as ''Bluebird'' (2004), '' Frailer'' (2014), ''Layla M.'' (2016) and ''God Only Knows'' (2019). ''Layla M.'' was selected as the 2018 Dutch entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Early life De Jong was born on 23 September 1959 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The Berlin International Film Festival (german: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), usually called the Berlinale (), is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany. Netherlands Film Festival
The Netherlands Film Festival ( nl, Nederlands Film Festival) is an annual film festival, held in September and October of each year in the city of Utrecht. During the ten-day festival, Dutch film productions and co-productions are exhibited. Besides feature films, the program also consists of short subjects, documentary films, and television productions. On the closing evening of the festival, the Golden Calves are awarded to the best films, directors, and actors. ''Tropic of Emerald'' or '' De gordel van smaragd '' is a 1997 Dutch drama film directed by Orlow Seunke. Plot From Amsterdam, Netherlands, Theo Staats came to Soekamadjoe near Depok, Dutch East Indies in 1925 to help his Oom on his Oom's rubber plantation in several plots of land. Theo was guided by an Indo ''mandeur'' (plantation field manager) named Boon. Theo met Ems, an Indo cafe singer in Soekamadjoe. Ems was Dr. Herman's wife.
