Mihai Flamaropol
Mihai Flamaropol (9 April 1919 – 30 June 1985) was a Romanian footballer, ice hockey player and coach and a writer. Flamaropol started playing football at Gloria București when he was 12 years old and at 17 he started to play ice hockey at Telefon Club București. He competed in both sports until he retired from football at age 35, but continued to play ice hockey until he was 40 years old. The Mihai Flamaropol Skating Rink from București is named in his honor. Football career Mihai Flamaropol made his Divizia A debut on 10 May 1940, playing for Juventus București under coach Coloman Braun-Bogdan in a 5–2 home victory in which he scored a goal against UD Reșița. Liga I
The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. The Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 campaign, being currently on the 29th place in UEFA's league coefficient ranking list. Gheorghe Băcuț
Gheorghe Băcuț (also known as Gheorghe Băcuț I; 12 July 1927 – 24 July 1974) was a Romanian footballer who played as a right back for teams such as ITA Arad, Dinamo București or Progresul Oradea. Career Băcuț was an important player of ITA's golden generation, winning two titles with "the Provincial Champions" and one Romanian Cup. After that, he moved to Dinamo, where he won another national title, in 1955. His brother, Ladislau Băcuț was also a footballer, they played together at ITA Arad and Dinamo București. Czechoslovakia National Football Team
The Czechoslovakia national football team ( cs, Československá fotbalová reprezentace, sk, Česko-slovenské národné futbalové mužstvo) was the national football team of Czechoslovakia from 1920 to 1993. The team was controlled by the Czechoslovak Football Association, and the team qualified for eight World Cups and three European Championships. Andrei Mercea
Andrei Mercea (16 March 1925 – 24 January 2002) was a Romanian football forward. Club career Andrei Mercea was born on 16 March 1925 in Arad, Romania and started playing football at junior level at local clubs SG Arad and Gloria Arad. He started his senior career, making his Divizia A debut on 15 September 1946 for ITA Arad in a 8–4 victory against Dermagant Târgu Mureș. He won the title with ITA in the first two seasons of his career, at the first contributing with 12 goals scored in 22 appearances and in the second he played 21 games and scored 5 goals, also winning a Cupa României. The 1948 Balkan Cup, officially called the Balkan and Central European Championship, was played between April and November 1948 between Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia. Iuliu Baratky
Gyula Barátky ( ro, Iuliu Baratky; 14 May 1910 – 14 April 1962) was an ethnic Hungarian football player who represented both Hungary and Romania internationally. His preferred position was the half right. He played a total of 155 games in the national Romanian championships (scoring 100 goals), starting on 10 September 1933 (Venus București – Crișana Oradea 0–1). He won four Romanian Cups in 1937, 1939, 1940, 1941, all with Rapid București. He debuted in the Hungary national football team in 1930, and played nine games with no goals scored. 1940–41 Divizia B
The 1940–41 Divizia B was the seventh season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The league included 26 teams divided in three regional series. Many changes in the composition of the series were caused by the beginning of World War II. It was the last official season of Divizia B until 1946, when the league was resumed. The seasons played during World War II are not considered official. Also, promotions and relegations were not feasible this season because Divizia A and Divizia C were also suspended for the next 5 years. Liga II
The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete.
