Miguel de Cervantes Liceum, officially the Miguel de Cervantes XXXIV General Education Liceum with Bilingual Branches in Warsaw, is a public general education liceum ( secondary school) in Warsaw, Poland. In the years 1945-1991 was named the Karol Świerczewski Liceum. History The school was established on 28 September 1945. A year later it was named after general Karol Świerczewski pseud. Walter. In the mid-1950s, the school was located in a building at ul. Zakrzewska 24. In the following years of the facility's existence, the scientific movement developed and a scout team was established. At the beginning of the 90s, a sports hall was put into use. On 23 April 1991, the school was named after the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes. Karol Świerczewski
Karol Wacław Świerczewski (; callsign ''Walter''; 10 February 1897 – 28 March 1947) was a Polish and Soviet Red Army general and statesman. He was a Bolshevik Party member during the Russian Civil War and a Soviet officer in the wars fought abroad by the Soviet Union including the one against Polish as well as Ukrainian Republics and in Republican Spain. In 1939 he participated in the Soviet invasion of Poland again. At the end of World War II in Europe he was installed as one of leaders of the Soviet-sponsored Polish Provisional Government of National Unity. Soon later, Świerczewski died in a country-road ambush shot by the militants from OUN-UPA. He was an icon of communist propaganda for the following several decades. Marcin Kołodyński
Marcin Kołodyński (17 April 1980 – 1 February 2001) was a Polish actor and TV presenter. Education He graduated from the Miguel de Cervantes Liceum in Warsaw. He studied journalism at the University of Warsaw. Death He died tragically in the vicinity of Zakopane, while snowboarding. Karol Kłos (born 8 August 1989) is a Polish professional volleyball player. Piotr Fronczewski (born 8 June 1946 in Łódź, Poland), is a Polish actor and a cabaret and theatre singer. He is regarded as one of the greatest and most popular actors of his generation.
