Middleton High School (South Carolina)
Middleton High School was a high school in South Carolina. It is now closed. History The school closed as it gave way to a more modern high school West Ashley High School. The former school was located West of the Ashley in Charleston, S.C. at 1776 William Kennerty Dr. just off SC Hwy 61. The school opened in 1970 and closed its doors as a high school in 2000. Mr. Rufus German was Middleton's principal. He spent many years trying to make Middleton a bigger and better school. The structure of the Middleton High School building was that of St. Andrews Junior High School. When the student body split in 1970 between Middleton and St. Andrews, Middleton students were going back in time to their junior high school years. When the split was announced in 1970, students that were zoned for Middleton were concerned, as all had expected to move on to St. Andrews High School. West Ashley High School
West Ashley High School is the only public high school located in the West Ashley area in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. It was created in 2000, when the Charleston County School District merged Middleton High School and Saint Andrews High School. It is a part of St. Andrews Constituent District #10. Darius Carlos Rucker (born May 13, 1966) is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He first gained fame as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of rock band Hootie & the Blowfish, which he founded in 1986 at the University of South Carolina along with Mark Bryan, Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, and Dean Felber. The band released five studio albums with Rucker as a member and charted six top 40 hits on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Rucker co-wrote most of the songs with the other members of the band. Eric Bass (born William Frederic Bass, Jr., October 23, 1974) is an American musician, songwriter, and producer, best known as the current bassist for the American rock band Shinedown. Personal life Bass was born into a conservative, and very musical family, and was encouraged to sing and play piano from an early age. Shinedown is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed by singer Brent Smith in 2001 after the dissolution of Dreve, his previous band. Robert William Harrell Jr. (born March 7, 1956) is an American politician and member of the Republican Party who served as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing the 114th District, from 1992 to 2014, serving as the Speaker of the House from 2005 to 2014.
