Michele Rinaldi (motorcyclist)
Michele Rinaldi (born 9 March 1959 in Parma) is an Italian former professional motocross racer and current motorcycle race team manager. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1976 to 1987. Rinaldi is notable for being the first Italian competitor to win an FIM motocross world championship and, for the numerous world championships achieved as a motocross team manager. Biography Rinaldi began competing in the 125cc motocross world championships in 1976, finishing in the top three for four consecutive years between 1980 and 1983, first for the Gilera team, then for the Suzuki team. In 1984, he finally captured the 125 title, becoming the first Italian to win a motocross world championship. He moved up to the 250 class with his best result being a second place in the 1986 world championship behind Jacky Vimond. He retired in 1987 after having competed in the Paris to Dakar rally. Bobby Moore is an American former professional motocross racer. He won the 1994 125cc Motocross World Championship. Moore was inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2017. In 1985, Moore won the A.M.A. 125cc Western Supercross title. He moved on to the F.I.M. world championships, finishing second to Donny Schmit in the 1990 125cc championship and second to Stefan Everts in the 1991 125cc championship. The 1976 FIM Motocross World Championship was the 20th F.I.M. Motocross Racing World Championship season. Summary Suzuki's Roger De Coster claimed his fifth 500cc world championship finishing ahead of his teammate Gerrit Wolsink and Maico's Adolf Weil. Wolsink had seven moto victories against the nine victories by De Coster meaning that the championship wasn't decided until the final race in Luxembourg. Husqvarna's Heikki Mikkola returned to the 250cc class and won a tight points battle to finish the season one point ahead of KTM's Guennady Moisseev. Gaston Rahier once again dominated the 125cc class to win his second consecutive world championship for Suzuki.
