Mexico National Ice Hockey Team
The Mexican national ice hockey team ( es, Selección Mexicana de hockey sobre hielo) is the national men's ice hockey team of Mexico. The team is governed by the Mexico Ice Hockey Federation (FDMHSH) ( es, Federación Deportiva de Mexico de Hockey sobre Hielo) and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Mexico is currently ranked 35th in the world rankings and compete in the IIHF World Championship Division II Group B. History Mexico joined the IIHF on 30 April 1985. They played their first game during the 2000 World Championships, losing to Belgium (5–0). Since then they have participated in every World Championship and are currently in Division II B. It is the only Latin American team that competes in IIHF tournaments. Mexico hosted the Pan American Ice Hockey Tournament from 2014 to 2017, losing to the Canada Selects once (7–0) and to Colombia twice (4–3 and 3–2 in shootout) in the Pan American Tournament final three times. 2007 IIHF World Championship Division II
The 2007 IIHF World Championship Division II tournament consisted of two groups of six teams. Group A was held in Zagreb, Croatia from April 11 to 17, 2007, while Group B was held in Seoul, South Korea from April 2 to April 8, 2007. 2006 IIHF World Championship Division II
The 2006 IIHF World Championship Division II was an international Ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The tournament was contested from March 27 to April 9, 2006. Participants in this tournament were separated into two separate tournament groups. The Group A tournament was contested in Sofia, Bulgaria. Group B's games were played in Auckland, New Zealand. The 2006 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 70th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams representing 45 countries participated in four levels of competition. The 2002 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships were held between 26 April and 11 May 2002 in Gothenburg, Karlstad and Jönköping, Sweden. It was the 66th annual event, and was run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The competition also served as qualification for division placements in the 2003 competition. Championship The Championship division was contested from 26 April to 11 May 2002. Participants in this tournament were placed into groups of four with the top three teams in each group advancing to the qualifying round. Teams which finished last in the group were sent to the relegation round where the top bottom teams were relegated to the 2003 Division I tournament.
