It provides the main coastal route between and via . Highway 1 continues around the rest of Australia, joining all mainland state capitals, and connecting major centres in Tasmania. With the entire route passing close to the coast, for many New South Wales residents Highway 1 is synonymous with summer holiday road trips. Newcastle Link Road
Newcastle Link Road is a limited-access road in New South Wales linking the interchange of Pacific Motorway and Hunter Expressway at Cameron Park, to Wallsend in western Newcastle. It is designated part of route A15. Route Newcastle Link Road commences at the interchange of Pacific Motorway and Hunter Expressway northwest of Cameron Park and heads in an easterly direction as a single carriageway, four-lane road, with a thin concrete divider separating traffic, to end at Wallsend on the western edge of suburban Newcastle, completed in 1993. Traffic, and route A15, continues east past Wallsend as Thomas Street to connect directly into central Newcastle. While the road has a 90 km/h speed limit, there are two roundabouts along the road (previously four prior to 2013). Tweed Heads is a town in New South Wales. It is located on the Tweed River in north-eastern New South Wales, Australia, in Tweed Shire, next to the border with Queensland and adjacent to its "twin town" of Coolangatta, which is a suburb of the Gold Coast. Snowy Mountains Highway
Snowy Mountains Highway is a state highway located in New South Wales, Australia. Its two sections connect the New South Wales South Coast to the Monaro region, and the Monaro to the South West Slopes via the Snowy Mountains. The higher altitude regions of this road are subject to snow over the winter months, and the road also provides access to many parts of the Snowy Mountains Scheme. The highway bears the B72 shield along its entire length. The highway originally bore the name Monaro Highway until 1958, when it received its current name. It originally ran from to Wagga Wagga but has been shortened to run from Princes Highway to Hume Highway instead. Part of the roadway was reallocated to what is now known as Monaro Highway in 1955. Kings Highway is an interstate highway located within the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales, Australia. The highway connects Canberra with Batemans Bay on the South Coast. It is designated route B52. Route West to east, it starts at the interchange with Monaro Highway, Canberra Avenue and Ipswich Street on the northern border of Symonston in the Australian Capital Territory and continues in a westerly direction along Canberra Avenue, crosses over the border into New South Wales near Queanbeyan, passes through Queanbeyan itself, Carwoola, briefly crosses back into the Kowen district of ACT and then back into NSW heading south-east to Batemans Bay via Bungendore, Braidwood and Nelligen. Illawarra Highway
Illawarra Highway is a short state highway in New South Wales, Australia. It connects Wollongong to the Southern Highlands and links Princes Highway and Hume Highway. It is named after the geographical area it crosses, the Illawarra region. Route Typical scenery is beautiful as it crosses the Macquarie Valley (Shellharbour) and the spectacular Macquarie Pass, with many hairpin bends and steep gradients, unsuitable for large and articulated vehicles. Trucks are instead advised to use the Mount Ousley Road (route B88), also known as Picton Road. The pass has one of the southernmost stands of Australia's sub tropical rainforest. The A6 is an arterial road linking Cumberland Highway at and Princes Highway at , via Lidcombe and Bankstown. It was formerly designated as Metroad 6, which was one of the Sydney Metroads. The A6 provides a link from the northern suburbs to the southern suburbs, and from the Pacific Highway to the Princes Highway. Some stretches such as Silverwater Road, Alfords Point Road, New Illawarra Road and Heathcote Road have very few junctions or are in (currently) rural areas, and the speed limit is therefore relaxed slightly. The M5 Motorway is a motorway located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia that is designated with the M5 route and forms part of the Sydney Orbital Network. Bradfield Highway (Sydney)
The Bradfield Highway is a highway in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. At long it is one of the shortest highways in Australia. The highway was opened on 19 March 1932 and was named in honour of Dr John Bradfield. As a government-appointed civil engineer, Bradfield oversaw the tendering process for the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and as the NSW Public Works Department chief engineer had oversight of the bridge design and construction. Amid some controversy, Bradfield was also considered to be the co-designer of the bridge's arch design, along with Dorman Long and Sir Ralph Freeman.
