Menaka Rajapakse
Walimuni Mudiyanselage Menake Hemaal Rajapakse (මේනක රාජපක්ශ born 24 May 1983), is a Sri Lankan teledrama actor and model. He was first cast in 2005 as one of the main actors, but the role changed into a lead, in the teledrama ''Sanda Mudunata'', which was telecast on Swarnavahini in 2005. He had acted in more than 30 teledramas and 3 films as of 2015. Early life Menake is the second child of his family. His father Ivan Rajapakse was an executive who worked in the hotel industry and died on 2004. His mother Zareena Allang, is a Malay and was a teacher at Wycherly International School. He is a past pupil of St. Peter's College, Colombo. Career He was first sighted by a teledrama producer Samy Pavel during a SAAF Games on 2005. Kelaniya
Kelaniya ( si, කැලණිය ta, களனி) is a suburb of Colombo in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is known for the Buddhist temple built on the banks of the Kelani River, which divides the suburb from Colombo District. St. Peter's College ( Sinhala: සාන්ත පීතර විදුහල, Tamil: செயிண்ட் பீட்டர் கல்லூரி) is a Roman Catholic boys-only primary to secondary (inclusive) school in the Bambalapitiya zone of Colombo, Sri Lanka, founded in 1922. In 1919, just after the end of World War I, Fr. M. J. Le Goc, Rector of St Joseph's College, Colombo, wanted to start a college in the southern suburbs of Colombo, and acquired a block of cinnamon land in Bambalapitiya. Construction began on 7 July 1921 under the supervision of J. R. J. Jayesuria, an alumnus of St. Joseph's College. In December 1921, Le Goc announced that St. Joseph's College South would open in January 1922. The buildings were designed by Le Goc, and were built in six months. Swarnavahini ( si, ස්වර්ණවාහිනී; literally Golden Channel) is a Sinhala language general entertainment and news television channel in Sri Lanka owned by EAP Broadcasting Company, a subsidiary of EAP Holdings. Launched in 1994 as ETV (Extra Terrestrial Vision), it was one of Sri Lanka's first privately owned television channels. Its sister channel ETV 2 was launched in 1995 when ETV was re-branded ETV 1. 2006 South Asian Games
The 2006 South Asian Games (also known as the 10th South Asian Games) were held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 18 August to 28 August 2006, in the Sugathadasa Stadium with more than 2000 sportspersons competing in the record 20 disciplines of Sports. The 10th edition of SAF Games also marked the debut for Afghanistan. Another highlight of 2006 SAF Games was unprecedented high levels of security for officials & players amid violent clashes between the Sri Lankan Government's troops and LTTE. Earlier in 2005, the Games, originally scheduled to be held in 2005, had been postponed following the Indonesian tsunami wave devastated the northern and eastern region. ''Sinhawalokanaya'' (සිංහාවලෝකනය - Lion's Pride) is a 2011 Sinhala sports drama film written and directed by Suneth Malinga Lokuhewa. The film features Dilan Jay and Raini Charuka Goonatillake in the leading roles while Menaka Rajapakse, Sanath Gunathilake, Kumara Thirimadura, Mihira Sirithilaka, Kanchana Mendis, Pubudu Chathuranga and Cletus Mendis also play key supporting roles. The Sri Lanka cricket star, Tillakaratne Dilshan also played a supporting role.
