Memphis 901 FC is an American professional soccer team based in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded in 2018, the team made its debut in the USL Championship in 2019. Stadium The club currently plays on the grounds of AutoZone Park, a baseball stadium which is also home of the Memphis Redbirds of the Pacific Coast League. The club also played at Mike Rose Soccer Complex for a U.S. Open Cup game against Hartford Athletic on May 29, 2019, and for a U.S. Open Cup game against Orlando City SC on June 12, 2019. On October 18, 2022, the club announced plans for a new soccer-specific stadium with a capacity of 10,000. The stadium is planned to open in time for the 2025 USL Championship season and will be constructed at the current site of the Mid-South Coliseum, which closed in 2006. AutoZone Park is a Minor League Baseball stadium located in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, and is home to the Memphis Redbirds of the International League and Memphis 901 FC of the USL Championship. The Redbirds are the Triple-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's (MLB) St. Louis Cardinals. In 2009, the stadium was named Minor League Ballpark of the Year by ''Baseball America.'' Birmingham Legion FC is an American professional soccer club based in Birmingham, Alabama, that competes in the USL Championship, the second division of American soccer. The team was established in August 2013 and played under the name Birmingham Hammers until 2018 and began their first professional season as Legion FC on March 10, 2019. History On August 9, 2017, the United Soccer League (now known as USL Championship), the Division II sanctioned league by the United States Soccer Federation, granted a team for Birmingham to begin play in the 2019 season. Ben Pirmann
Ben Pirmann (born September 19, 1985) is an American soccer coach who is the head coach of USL Championship club Charleston Battery. Playing career Pirmann played four years of college soccer at Michigan State University between 2004 and 2008, including a redshirted year in 2007. Pirmann tallied 13 assists and scored one goal during his career, leading MSU in assists in 2006. He was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was the Spartans' recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship award in 2008. Pirmann also played in the USL PDL with both West Michigan Edge and Indiana Invaders. Management career Pirmann began coaching at Western Michigan University in 2009. After three seasons, he moved to the same role with his alma mater Michigan State University. Cal Jennings
Cal Jennings (born May 17, 1997) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward who currently plays for Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship. Early life and college Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Jennings attended Roswell High School where he played two seasons for the school's soccer team. He also spent a season with U.S. Soccer Development Academy club Georgia United. After graduating high school, Jennings enrolled at the University of Central Florida and joined the UCF Knights college soccer team. He made his debut on August 26, 2016 against the Grand Canyon Antelopes. He scored his first and only goal of his freshman season on October 8 against the Memphis Tigers in a 2–3 defeat. Tim Mulqueen
Tim Mulqueen is an American soccer coach and former goalkeeper. He was most recently the head coach of Memphis 901 FC in the USL Championship. Mulqueen grew up in the Fords section of Woodbridge Township, New Jersey and played soccer at St. Joseph High School. He graduated from St. Joseph's University in 1988. In 1989 Mulqueen played for the New Jersey Eagles in the ASL. In 1995-97 Mulqueen was listed as a player for the North Jersey Imperials in the USISL. Mulqueen was an assistant coach at Rutgers University from 1988 to 1994. During that time Rutgers went to 3 Final Fours 1989, 1990 (National Finalist), and 1994. He was goalkeeping coach for the MetroStars from 1996 to 1999 and the Kansas City Wizards from 2000 to 2004.
