Melodifestivalen 2012
Melodifestivalen 2012 is a Swedish song contest that was held between 4 February and 10 March 2012. It selected the fifty-second Swedish entry to be internationally represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 (ESC 2012). As in the editions between 2009–2011, a maximum of eight people were allowed on stage, while only persons of 16 years or over are eligible. However, in accordance with Eurovision rules, only six people were allowed on stage for the Swedish entry at Eurovision. The main singer(s) were required to perform vocals live on stage. However, other backing vocals can be prerecorded, along with the song's backing track. On 20 June 2011, SVT announced an open call for Melodifestivalen 2012, with some changes in the rules. Gina Dirawi
Gina Dirawi ( ar, غنا ديراوي; born 11 December 1990) is a Swedish television presenter, singer-songwriter, radio personality, blogger, comedian and actress. While she is best known as the first woman ever to host Melodifestivalen on three occasions, she has also hosted several other television and radio shows. She has also released music and played the lead role in the play "Donna Juanita" on Stadsteatern in Stockholm. Personal life Dirawi was born on 11 December 1990 in Sundsvall, Sweden, the second of four children. She is of Palestinian descent and her family comes from Lebanon. Dirawi's paternal grandparents convinced her father to move to Sweden. After eventually moving to Sundsvall to study, he returned to Lebanon to marry Dirawi's mother. Nyköpings Arenor, Rosvalla is a sports and exhibition centre purely owned by the municipality of Nyköping and managed by Peab on behalf of Nyköping Sports and Exhibition Centre. Tegera Arena is an arena in Leksand, Sweden primarily used for ice hockey. It was opened in October 2005, and is the home arena of Leksands IF. It holds 7,650 people. History Construction of a new arena, replacing the former Leksands ishall from 1966, was announced on 27 April 2004. Construction began on 5 July the same year, and the first ice hockey game inside the arenas was played on 3 October 2005 when Leksands IF lost, 3–4, against Linköpings HC in the Swedish Hockey League. Vida Arena (branded as VIDA Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Växjö, Sweden. The arena opened in September 2011 and is best known as the home arena for the ice hockey team Växjö Lakers. It seats 5,750 spectators.
