Mellieħa Sports Club is a Maltese sports club based in the town of Mellieħa. Founded in 1947, just after the end of the Second World War, the primary aim was that of promoting and fostering the development of sports in the village and its surroundings, including football, baseball (Mellieħa Northenders), softball (Mellieħa Curves), netball and snooker. Mellieħa S.C. began as a football club in 1947 and has competed ever since. Their most notable achievement happened in 1992 when they finished runners-up in the Maltese First Division, which earned them a promotion to the Premier League, the top-tier in Maltese football. The Maltese National Amateur League (referred to as the IZIBet Amateur League for sponsorship reasons) is the third-highest division in Maltese football, replacing the Maltese Second Division and Maltese Third Division during the 2020–21 season following the premature end of the previous football season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Maltese Third Division (also known as the BOV Third Division due to sponsorship reasons) was the lowest league level in Maltese football until 2020 when it was merged with the Maltese Second Division to create the National Amateur League.
