Melaka Monorail
Melaka Monorail is a monorail system in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia with 3 stations – Tun Ali, Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat. Only the Tun Ali station is currently operational, while 2 other stations (Hang Tuah and Hang Jebat) are all closed until further notice. The first phase of the system, built at a cost of RM15.9 million and covering 1.6 km from Taman Rempah in Pengkalan Rama to Hang Tuah Station at Kampung Bunga Raya Pantai, was opened to the public on 21 October 2010. However, hours after opening, the monorail ground to a halt, stranding 20 passengers inside. , after a series of similar problems it was no longer operational; the monorail was however spotted at nights doing test runs in 2011. In March 2016 it was still inoperative, although in June 2015 there were reports about Malacca state government planning to restore dilapidated infrastructure and to revive the monorail service in order to promote tourism in the area. Malacca River
The Malacca River ( ms, Sungai Melaka) which flows through the middle of Malacca City in Malacca, Malaysia, was a vital trade route during the heyday of Malacca Sultanate in the 15th century. The river starts from the foothills in the neighbouring state of Negeri Sembilan and feeds into the Strait of Malacca. A USD$100 million (RM350 million) infrastructure project to revive and rejuvenate the river which is the central to Malacca as a historical city was carried out. This has included construction of a tidal barrage, restoration of buildings and bridges, dredging, concrete river banks with river walkways. KL Monorail
The KL Monorail Line is one of the operational monorail systems in Malaysia. Operated as part of the RapidKL system by Rapid Rail, a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia, it is one of the components of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System. The line is numbered and coloured on official transit maps. History This urban monorail line was opened on 31 August 2003, with 11 stations running on two parallel elevated tracks.
