Medal For Outstanding Civic Achievement
The Medal for Outstanding Civic Service or ''Medaljen for Borgerdåd'' is the second highest ranked Norway, Norwegian medal. In spring 2004 the medal ceased to be awarded. The medal was first established by Royal Resolution April 10, 1819 and later altered by Royal Resolution April 13, 1844. It was awarded by the cabinet meeting presided over by the King after a recommendation by the Norwegian Ministry of Justice. It is divided into two grades: the first class is in gold and the second class is in silver. Recipients of the Medal for Outstanding Civic Achievement are ranked 2nd in the Norwegian order of precedence, after recipients of the War Cross with sword and before holders of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav. The War Cross with Sword (Norwegian Bokmål: ''Krigskorset med sverd, ''Norwegian Nynorsk: ''Krigskrossen med sverd'') is the highest ranking Norwegian gallantry decoration. It is awarded for extraordinary brave actions or extraordinary leadership during combat. A recipient deemed worthy of additional citations will receive up to an additional two swords on the medal ribbon in addition to the "standard" single sword. Haakon VII Of Norway
Haakon VII (; born Prince Carl of Denmark; 3 August 187221 September 1957) was the King of Norway from November 1905 until his death in September 1957. Originally a Danish prince, he was born in Copenhagen as the son of the future Frederick VIII of Denmark and Louise of Sweden. Prince Carl was educated at the Royal Danish Naval Academy and served in the Royal Danish Navy. After the 1905 dissolution of the union between Sweden and Norway, Prince Carl was offered the Norwegian crown. Olav V Of Norway
Olav V (; born Prince Alexander of Denmark; 2 July 1903 – 17 January 1991) was the King of Norway from 1957 until his death in 1991. Olav was the only child of King Haakon VII of Norway and Maud of Wales. He became heir apparent to the Norwegian throne when his father was elected King of Norway in 1905. Hans Riddervold (7 November 1795 – 20 July 1876) was a Norwegian priest and politician. Personal life He was born at Teien in Åsgårdstrand as a son of shipmaster Adolf Kvernheim Riddervold (1760–1817) and Bredine Bolette Nielsen (1773–1811). He was the father of Julius Riddervold, who in turn was a grandfather of Hans Julius Riddervold. Alfred Eriksen (nicknamed "Karlsøypresten", 30 August 1864 – 4 May 1934) was a Norwegian priest, politician, newspaper editor and non-fiction writer. Ole Olsen Evenstad (23 September 1766 – 20 February 1833) was a Norwegian farmer and elected official who served as a representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly. Biography Ole Olsen Evenstad was born on the Evenstad farm in Stor-Elvdal parish in Hedmark, Norway. Tollef Hansen Kilde (17 July 1853 – 2 January 1947) was a Norwegian forest owner, business founder and politician. He was born in Åmot as a son of forest owner Hans Tollefsen Kilde (1822–1882) and Oline Grini (1827–1871). He attended Sagatun Folk High School, the Norwegian College of Agriculture and the Forestry Academy in Tharandt. In 1878 he took over the family farm, Kilde.
