Matty Lee
Matthew Lee (born 5 March 1998) is a British diver and Olympic gold medallist. Adept in both individual and synchronised diving, and across both 3-metre springboard and platform, Lee won the gold medal in 10-metre platform at the 2015 European Games, the mixed 10-metre synchronised platform at the 2017 European Diving Championships and has twice been European junior champion on the 3-metre springboard. At world level, Lee won the silver medal in the mixed 10-metre synchronised platform event at the 2017 World Championships, and at the 2019 World Championships, Lee and Tom Daley won bronze in the 10 m synchro event, as well as gold in July 2021 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Leeds
Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. 2018 European Aquatics Championships
The 2018 European Aquatics Championships took place in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Luss in the central belt of Scotland, from 3 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in Scotland and Berlin. Venue The Tollcross International Swimming Centre hosted the swimming events with the diving being hosted by the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh. The open water swimming competition took place at Loch Lomond, while Scotstoun Sports Campus hosted the synchronised swimming events. FINA Diving World Cup
The FINA Diving World Cup is an international biennial diving competition that was first contested in The Woodlands, Texas in 1979. The 2012 edition served as Diving's test event for the 2012 Olympics, as well as the final qualifying event for Diving at those Games. Tom Daley (UK, b. 21 May 1994) is the youngest medallist at a FINA Diving World Cup. He was aged 13 years 277 days when he won bronze in the 10 m synchro competition in Beijing, China, on 22 February 2008. Diving At The 2015 European Games
The Diving events at the 2015 European Games took place at the Baku Aquatics Centre, Baku from 18 to 21 June 2015. Eight events were contested, six from the Olympic program, 3 metre and 3 metre synchronised springboard, and platform for both men and women. In addition, two non-Olympic events, men's and women's 1m springboard, were be held. The Olympic events of men's and women's 10 metre synchronised diving were not held. Diving was not included in the earliest list of sports confirmed for the 2015 Games, as the European swimming authorities at that stage were minded not to take part. However, following negotiations with the organising authorities, a compromise was reached whereby, in 2015, these events were for junior divers only - in effect, athletes between the ages of 14 and 18. 2015 European Games
The 2015 European Games, also known as Baku 2015 or Baku 2015 European Games ( az, Bakı 2015 Avropa Oyunları), were the inaugural edition of the European Games, an international multi-sport event for athletes representing the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the European Olympic Committees. It took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 12 to 28 June 2015, and featured almost 6,000 athletes from 50 countries competing in 30 sports, including 15 summer Olympic and 2 non-Olympic sports. Host selection Baku was awarded the right to host the first European Games at the 41st EOC General Assembly in Rome, on 8 December 2012. The European Diving Championships are biennial diving competitions, organized by LEN. The meet features divers from Europe, competing in events on 1-meter and 3-meter springboards and on 10-meter platform. The meet has traditionally been held in June. History Diving was an integral part of the European Aquatics Championships since its introduction in 1926. A separate Diving Championships were first held in 2009 in Turin, and featured 10 events: individual diving from 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform among both men and women, and synchronized diving from 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform among both men and women as well.
