Matt's BBQ is a barbecue restaurant in Portland, Oregon's Boise neighborhood. Sibling restaurant Matt's BBQ Tacos, also located in Portland, opened in 2019. History In 2015, Matt Vicedomini opened his first food cart on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Matt's BBQ Tacos opened the 2019. The sibling restaurant offers breakfast tacos. Both restaurants closed temporarily in March 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Limited operations were restored in April. In 2021, Matt's BBQ confirmed plans to expand into Beaverton, Oregon. Matt's BBQ Tacos was featured on the Netflix series ''Street Food'' in 2022. Prost Marketplace is a food cart pod in Portland, Oregon. Description and history Prost Marketplace is a food cart pod in the north Portland part of the Boise neighborhood. Businesses have included Bloodbuzz, Breadbox, Burger Stevens, Caspian Kabob, Desi PDX, Fried Egg I'm in Love, Little Conejo, Matt's BBQ, Nico's Ice Cream, and Pastrami Zombie. The city of Portland, Oregon, United States, has experienced a boom in the number of food carts due to relatively low regulation compared to other North American cities. History In 1965, the first food cart in Portland, which sold kosher hot dogs, was set up across from Portland City Hall. In 1976, Portland opened up all of its downtown parks to competitive bidding. A 2001 report in ''The Oregonian'' stated Portland was home to 175 carts, with fierce competition for the four cart spaces available since 1987 in the South Park Blocks.
