Matilde Camus
Aurora Matilde Gómez Camus (26 September 1919 – 28 April 2012) was a Spanish poet from Cantabria who also wrote non-fiction. Life and career Aurora Matilde Gómez Camus was born in Santander, Cantabria on September 26th 1919, she was the daughter of Francisco Gómez Landeras and Matilde Camus del Villar. In the 1920s, Matilde Camus attended the Colegio de San José, and later on the Instituto de Santa Clara for seven years. She married Justo Guisández García in 1943. She had four children Justo Francisco, Francisco Javier, Matilde and Miguel Ángel. Matilde Camus wrote poetry book ''Voces'' in 1969. Camus died in Santander, Cantabria on April 28th 2012. Cantabria
Cantabria (, also , , Cantabrian: ) is an autonomous community in northern Spain with Santander as its capital city. It is called a ''comunidad histórica'', a historic community, in its current Statute of Autonomy. It is bordered on the east by the Basque autonomous community (province of Biscay), on the south by Castile and León ( provinces of León, Palencia and Burgos), on the west by the Principality of Asturias, and on the north by the Cantabrian Sea (Bay of Biscay). Santander, Cantabria
Santander () is the capital of the autonomous community and historical region of Cantabria situated on the north coast of Spain. It is a port city located east of Gijón and west of Bilbao with a population of 172,000 (2017). It is believed to have been a port since ancient times, due to its favorable location, and is documented as far back as the 11th century. Much of the medieval city was lost in the Great Fire of 1941. Today, its remaining old town, beach and other attractions are popular with tourists and other visitors and its economy is mainly service based. The port is still very active and a regular ferry service operates to the United Kingdom. Fish and seafood dominate the local cuisine. Santander notably houses the headquarters of multinational bank Banco Santander, which was founded there. Vicenta García Miranda
Vicenta García Miranda (August 1816 – 1877) was a Spanish Romantic poet. Biography Vicenta García Miranda was born in Campanario in August 1816, the daughter of Antonio García Miranda, a pharmacist and lover of poetry and classical literature. Due to her father's illness, which kept him bedridden for eleven years, the family had to move to the house of a paternal uncle, which made it difficult for the future writer to study. She married medical student Antonio Ángel de Salas in July 1833, had a son in 1841, who died at eleven months, and was widowed in 1843. These sad events set the tone for a large part of her poetry. In 1845, after reading a poem by Carolina Coronado, she felt that she could also write poetry. Reading Coronado's verses provoked a violent reaction in her that led to a personal rebirth and her poetic awakening. Alto Campoo
Alto Campoo is a ski resort in the Cantabrian Mountains of northern Spain. The resort is located in the Cantabrian comarca of Campoo. The source of the river Ebro is near the resort in the town of Fontibre. Resort With of marked pistes, it is one of the biggest resorts of the Cantabrian Mountains. International Baptist Theological Study Centre (IBTS) is a Baptist theological school, located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is affiliated with the European Baptist Federation.
