Matero, Lusaka
Matero is a township in the north-western part of the city of Lusaka in Zambia. Location The neighborhood is bordered to the northeast by the T2 road ( Great North Road), that stretches between Kabwe to the north, through Lusaka to Kafue to the south. To the southeast, the border is Lumumba Road. Umuzilikazi Road marks the neighborhood's southern border. The western border is the river that starts near the southern end of Chitanda Road and flows northwestwards until it crosses the same street near the Chitanda Sewerage pond. The northern border of Matero stretches from the Chitanda pond to the west, through Chitanda Cemetery, to end at the T2 highway, immediately north of National Heroes Stadium. Provinces Of Zambia
Zambia is divided into 10 provinces for administrative purposes. Each province is headed by a minister appointed by the President and there are ministries of central government for each province. The administrative head of each province is the Permanent Secretary, appointed by the President. There are Deputy Permanent Secretary, heads of government departments and civil servants at the provincial level. T2 Road (Zambia)
The T2 is a trunk road in Zambia. The road runs from the Tunduma border with Tanzania via Mpika, Kabwe and Lusaka to the Chirundu border with Zimbabwe. The road is the longest route of the country, as it is approximately . The entire route is a toll road. For its entire route, the T2 is known as Zambia's Great North Road and is part of the Cape to Cairo Road. Great North Road, Zambia
The Great North Road is a major route in Zambia, running north from Lusaka through Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi (the road continues by way of a right turn just north of Kapiri Mposhi), Serenje, Mpika (where it makes a left turn), Kasama, Mbala and Mpulungu. 82km North of Mpika is a signposted right turn onto a well maintained gravel road leading to Shiwa Ng'andu (12km) and Kapishya Hot Springs (32km). Kabwe
Kabwe is the capital of the Zambian Central Province and the Kabwe District, with a population estimated at 202,914 at the 2010 census. Named Broken Hill until 1966, it was founded when lead and zinc deposits were discovered in 1902. Heroes National Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Lusaka, Lusaka Province, Zambia. Miles Sampa is a Zambian politician and current Member of Parliament for Matero Constituency. The veteran politician previously served as Mayor of Lusaka, having been elected in August 2018. His election in 2021 would see him return to Parliament representing Matero Constituency, a position he served from 2011 to 2016.
