Martha Heesen (born 6 May 1948) is a Dutch writer. Career In 2004, she won the Golden Book-Owl for her book ''Toen Faas niet thuiskwam''. In 2007, she received the Vlag en Wimpel award for the book ''Wolf''. In 2015, she won the Theo Thijssen-prijs. The Theo Thijssen-prijsSometimes spelled ''Theo Thijssenprijs''. (Dutch for Theo Thijssen Prize) is a Dutch literary award awarded once every three years to a Dutch author of children's literature or young adult fiction. The award is not given for a particular work but for the entire oeuvre. The award is named after Dutch writer, teacher and socialist politician Theo Thijssen. The Theo Thijssen-prijs is a continuation of the literary award ''Staatsprijs voor kinder- en jeugdliteratuur'' (Dutch for ''State prize for children's and youth literature'') which was first awarded in 1964. The award ceremony is held in the Dutch Museum of Literature in The Hague. The award is awarded by the Stichting P.C. Hooft-prijs voor Letterkunde. Golden Book-Owl
The Golden Book-Owl (De Gouden Boekenuil) is a Belgian prize for original Dutch language literature. Originally it was named Golden Owl (De Gouden Uil). It has been awarded annually since 1995. Development It has changed categories several times during the years. For the first five years it consisted of three columns: Fiction, non-fiction and children and youth books. As for 2000 to 2008 the non-fiction category was replaced by an audience award. In 2009 and 2010 it had even four categories: Literature, Youth Literature, Audience and Youth Audience. Since 2012 it is reduced to grown up literature prizes. The winner gets 25,000 euro and a work of art, the winner of the 100 reader's prize gets 2,500 euro and a MontBlanc pen. Digital Library For Dutch Literature
The Digital Library for Dutch Literature (Dutch: Digitale Bibliotheek voor de Nederlandse Letteren or DBNL) is a website (showing the abbreviation as dbnl) about Dutch language and Dutch literature. It contains thousands of literary texts, secondary literature and additional information, like biographies, portrayals etcetera, and hyperlinks. The DBNL is an initiative by the DBNL foundation that was founded in 1999 by the Society of Dutch Literature (Dutch: Maatschappij der Nederlandse Letterkunde). Building of the DNBL was made possible by donations, among others, from the Dutch Organization for Scientific Research (Dutch: Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek or NWO) and the Nederlandse Taalunie. From 2008 to 2012, the editor was René van Stipriaan. The work is done by eight people in Leiden (as of 2013: The Hague), 20 students, and 50 people in the Philippines who scan and type the texts. Gouden Griffel
The Gouden Griffel (Golden Stylus) is an award given to authors of children's or teenagers' literature in the Netherlands. History Since 1971, it is awarded each year during the Dutch Children's Books Week, by the Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (Dutch Book Promotion Society) for the best children's books written in the past year. Between 1954 and 1970, one book per year was declared the "children's book of the year". Since then, ''griffels'' are awarded in several categories. Only novels written in Dutch are eligible for the ''gouden griffel''. However, the runner-up awards (Silver ''griffels'') can also be given to translated works. Aside from these, the ''Gouden Penseel'' (golden paintbrush) is awarded to the best illustrated children's books (with silver ''penseel'' as a runner-up), and since 1997 the Gouden Zoen (golden kiss, with silver as a runner-up) is awarded to the best books for teenagers.
