Marrit Leenstra (speed Skater)
Marrit Leenstra (; born 10 May 1989) is a Dutch former Long track speed skating, long track speed skater. Skating career In the 2007 in speed skating, 2007 season she made her World Cup debut in Moscow. In the 2008 in speed skating, 2008 season she skated a junior world record in the 1500 meters at the 2007–08 ISU Speed Skating World Cup, World Cup in Salt Lake City. Later this season she qualified for the European Speed Skating Championships for Women, European Championships and ranked 6th after all four distances. With this result she qualified for the World Allround Speed Skating Championships for Women, World Allround. At the World Allround Speed Skating Championships for Women, World Allround Championships in Berlin she placed 12th after four distances. In February 2008, Leenstra was crowned the World Junior Speed Skating Championships, World Junior Speed Skating Champion in Changchun, China. Wijckel
Wijckel ( fry, Wikel) is a village in De Fryske Marren municipality in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 645 in 2017. History The village was first mentioned in the 13th century Wicle. The etymology is unclear. Wijckel is a spread out village along the roads. The 2007–08 Speed Skating World Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of speed skating. The season began on 9 November 2007 and lasted until 22 February 2008. The World Cup was organised by the ISU, who also run world cups and championships in short track speed skating and figure skating.
