Mark Zubek
Mark Zubek (born June 19, 1974) is a songwriter, and jazz musician. His songwriting style is influenced by gangsta rap, grunge, death metal, and acid jazz. He was discovered by Betty Carter, who wrote lyrics for and performed a composition of his. Zubek was a member of the Toronto Songwriters' Association and has written jingles for companies like Coca-Cola, Dunkin' Donuts and the Discovery Channel. Zubek writes and produces albums for singers and bands, arranges, plays instruments, and does sound engineering from his home studio. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Betty Carter (born Lillie Mae Jones; May 16, 1929 – September 26, 1998) was an American jazz singer known for her improvisational technique, scatting and other complex musical abilities that demonstrated her vocal talent and imaginative interpretation of lyrics and melodies. Vocalist Carmen McRae once remarked: "There's really only one jazz singer—only one: Betty Carter."
