Mark W. Robinson (born 7 November 1963 in Norwich) is a former English professional darts player who played in the Professional Darts Corporation events. Career Robinson played in his first professional tournament in BDO 1997 which was the News of the World Championship & PDC World Pairs, he was beat in his first match by Colin Fowler 2-1 and his Team England Dean Allsop. The next time he played in a professional tournament was 2002 when he played in the World Grand Prix in Dublin. Again, he lost in his first match to Alex Roy 2–1. The first World Championship he played in was the 2003 PDC World Championship. He was beat by Reg Harding in round one, 4–3. His first professional tournament win came in 2004 when he won the UK Open North West Regional Final by beating Mark Dudbridge 2–0 in the Final. News Of The World Darts Championship
The News of the World Championship was one of the first major organised darts competitions, which began in 1927. It became England's first national darts competition from 1947, as the years went by it gradually became international essentially becoming the first world darts Championship and was the hardest darts tournament to win until its demise in 1990. There was also a brief revival of the event in 1996/97, but it is now discontinued. It was organised by the National Darts Association of Great Britain (NDAGB). Before the tournament was established, darts competitions were held in various forms around England – often as friendly matches between pubs. After World War I, pub breweries began arranging darts leagues which began to sow the seeds for the establishment of a national darts competition. Wayne Jones (darts Player)
Wayne Jones (born 24 April 1965) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. He uses the nickname The Wanderer for his matches. Career Jones started his career in the British Darts Organisation in the late 1980s and reached the final of the British Open in 1990 (losing to Alan Warriner and the British Classic in 2000 (losing to Ritchie Davies) - but his best achievement was reaching the final of the prestigious Winmau World Masters in 1999 when Andy Fordham ended his hopes of a first major title. He didn't make it to the Lakeside Country Club for the BDO World Championship until 2001, losing to Andy Fordham in the second round. Vic Hubbard
Victor Hubbard (born 18 November 1952) is an English former professional darts player who competed members in the 1980s. Career Hubbard qualified for the 1986 World Professional Darts Championship, beating Tony Payne in the first round before losing in the second round to Jocky Wilson. 17 years later, Hubbard joined the Professional Darts Corporation and qualified for the 2003 UK Open but lost his first match 5-0 to Steve Maish. He played in three more UK Open championships, reaching the third round in 2004 and 2005, losing to Wayne Mardle and Adrian Lewis respectively, and reaching the second round in 2006, losing to Roland Scholten. Wes Newton
Wesley Newton (born 27 August 1977) is an English professional darts player. Darts career Newton's first PDC major was the 2003 UK Open where he lost 8–6 to Mark Thomson in the last 32. He was beaten in the semi-finals of the Eastbourne Open in 2003 and 2004 and reached the first final of his career at the Golden Harvest North American Cup, but lost 4–0 to John Part. Newton qualified for the 2004 Las Vegas Desert Classic and was beaten 2–1 by Wayne Mardle in the first round. His World Championship debut came in 2005 when he lost 3–0 to Gerry Convery in the second round. Dennis Priestley
Dennis Priestley (born 16 July 1950) is an English former professional darts player. He has won two world championships, and was the first player to win both the BDO and WDC (now PDC) world championships, in 1991 and 1994 respectively. He is nicknamed "The Menace", after the cartoon character Dennis the Menace, and reflects this by wearing red and black, and using red and black flights. Early career Born in Mexborough, West Riding of Yorkshire, Priestley was originally a coal merchant by trade, and did not enter professional darts until he was almost 40 years old. Mark Dudbridge
Mark "Flash" Dudbridge (born 11 January 1973) is an English professional darts player. He appeared in the 2005 Premier League Darts after reaching the final of the 2005 PDC World Darts Championship. He also is a former World Master and has reached the final of the World Matchplay. Career Dudbridge started playing in his very early teens, citing Dennis Priestley as one of his heroes. Dudbridge made a name for himself in the British Darts Organisation by winning the Winmau World Masters in 2002, defeating Tony West in the final – in his first televised tournament. Reg Harding
Reg Harding (27 September 1945 – 11 August 2014) was an English professional darts player, who played in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career Harding played in five PDC World Darts Championships between 1999 and 2003, although he never got past the Last 32. Harding died in August 2014 after a battle with cancer. Alex Roy (darts Player)
Alexander Roy (born 4 September 1974) is an English former professional darts player who competed in events of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He used the nickname Ace of Herts for his matches and was formerly with Dave Holland Management. Roy's entrance music was "Burn in My Light" by Mercy Drive, which was the former theme of professional wrestler Randy Orton. In the early 2000s, Roy was inside the PDC's top 8 on the Order of Merit.
