Mark D. Benigni
Mark D. Benigni (born 1972) is the former Mayor of Meriden, Connecticut, USA. Benigni was re-elected three times. Benigni earned a bachelor's degree in business from Western Connecticut State University, and master's and doctorate degrees in education from the University of Hartford. After serving on the Meriden City Council, he was first elected mayor as an independent in 2001. On June 30, 2008, Benigni resigned as mayor to take a position as Cromwell High School's Principal. On July 1, 2010, Benigni left Cromwell High School to become the Superintendent of Meriden Public Schools. Connecticut () is the southernmost state in the New England region of the Northeastern United States. Western Connecticut State University (WCSU and WestConn) is a public university in Danbury, Connecticut. It was founded in 1903 as a teacher's college and is part of the Connecticut State University System. Cromwell High School (Connecticut)
Cromwell High School is the town high school of Cromwell, Connecticut. History In 1811, Cromwell High School occupied the building now used as Belden Library, which is adjacent to the town hall. There were 278 students total in this year. In 1902, the Nathaniel White School was built, and was used as the high school for 54 years, until the current high school, Cromwell High School, was built in 1956. The Nathaniel White School is now known as Cromwell Middle School and until September 2006 was used for grades 5–8. Fifth grade is now taught at Woodside Intermediate School along with 3rd and 4th grade. The high school is used for grades 9–12.
