Marita Hakala
Marita Hakala (born 10 November 1968) is a Finnish businessperson and fashion model. After a part-time modeling career in Finland, she became a full time professional model in Milan, Italy, where her first booking was with Blumarine, a high-end fashion house. Marita Hakala created a reality television series '' Mallikoulu'' (''Model School''), based on her experiences in the modeling world. The show was aired on Finland's leading broadcasting TV network MTV3 followed by a spinoff show on Sub TV on Fridays at prime time during 2005 and 2006, and 2015 on Ava. The first season's winner, Suvi Koponen, became the first international Finnish supermodel. Marita Hakala got into the business side of modeling when she was 17 years old and started a model society called Satakunnan Mallit in Western Finland. Ulvila
Ulvila (; sv, Ulvsby) is a town and municipality of Finland. It is one of the six medieval cities of Finland, as well as the third oldest city in the country. Ulvila was granted charter as a town by King Albert of Sweden on 7 February 1365. However, its town privileges were taken over by Pori in 1558. MTV3
MTV3 ( fi, MTV Kolme, sv, MTV Tre) is a Finnish commercial television station. It had the biggest audience share of all Finnish TV channels until Yle TV1 (from Yle) took the lead. The letters MTV stand for Mainos-TV (literally "Advertisement-TV", i.e. "Commercial TV), due to the channel carrying advertising for revenue. Number 3 was added later, when the channel was allocated the third nationwide television channel and it generally became known as "Channel Three"—Finnish Broadcasting Company’s Yle TV1 and Yle TV2 being the first two—and also to distinguish it from the later MTV Finland, which is a Finnish version of Paramount's MTV channel. Pori Jazz Festival
Pori Jazz is a large international jazz festival, held annually during the month of July in the coastal city of Pori (a population of 82,809 in January 2010), Finland. It is one of the oldest and best known jazz festivals in Europe, having been arranged every year since 1966. History The first, 2-day-long Pori Jazz Festival was held at the Kirjurinluoto island in July 1966 with 1500 visitors. Audiences grew from year to year and the duration of the festival was also increased. Between 1975 and 1984 it became established as a four-day event. Since 1985 the festival has lasted nine days with audiences numbering from 50,000 to 60,000. In the early 1990s the numbers reached 100,000 visitors and in 21st century about 120,000–160,000 people are visiting the festival every summer. Suvi Maria Riggs, (née Koponen; born 26 March 1988 in Vantaa, Finland), is a Finnish fashion model who rose to fame after winning the 2005 '' Mallikoulu'' (''Model School'' in English) contest in Finland. ''Mallikoulu'' () is a Finnish television reality show. The first season aired in 2005 on MTV3, and was followed by a half-hour follow up show on the smaller channel Sub. The show shared some similarities to the famous American TV series ''America's Next Top Model'' hosted by Tyra Banks, however, it was not made from the same format but from a new one created by former Finnish top model Marita Hakala.
