Marion Rung
Marion Rung (born 7 December 1945 in Helsinki) is a Finnish pop singer. She is known for having represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1962 and 1973. Her 1962 Eurovision song placed 7th, and in 1973, she managed to bring Finland's second best result in the contest until 2006 by finishing in 6th place. She also won the Grand Prix of the Sopot International Song Festival in 1974 and the Intervision Song Contest 1980 with "Where is the Love." Life Rung started her career in 1961, when she placed second in a Finnish song contest. The success gave her a chance to record her first single ''Brigitte Bardot''. Her most famous schlagers include " Tipi-tii", "El Bimbo" and " Eviva Espanja." In the 1970s, she also became well known in Germany. She continued her career, and in 2000, she was one fourth of the Leidit lavalla line-up with Katri Helena, Paula Koivuniemi, and Lea Laven. The Eurovision Song Contest 1973 was the 18th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, following the country's victory at the with the song " Après toi" by Vicky Leandros. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Télédiffusion (CLT), the contest was held at the Grand Théâtre on 7 April 1973 and was hosted by German television presenter Helga Guitton. Seventeen countries took part in the contest this year, with and deciding not to participate, and competing for the first time. In a back-to-back victory, won the contest again with the song "Tu te reconnaîtras" by Anne-Marie David. Finland was represented by Päivi Paunu and Kim Floor, with the song "Muistathan", at the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 25 March in Edinburgh. Before Eurovision National final The Finnish national final was held on 29th January at the YLE TV Studios in Helsinki, hosted by Aarre Elo. The winner was chosen by postcard voting. Laila Kinnunen
Laura “Laila” Annikki Kinnunen (8 November 1939, Vantaa – 26 October 2000, Heinävesi) was a Finnish singer. She was one of the most popular Finnish singers of the 1950s and 1960s, and represented Finland at the 1961 Eurovision Song Contest, the first time Finland participated in the contest. She spent her childhood in Sweden as a refugee from the Second World War, returning to Finland at the age of ten. Her first album, released in 1957, was a success, and she continued to release music until 1980. From the 1970s she suffered from severe alcoholism. Her daughter is Finnish singer Milana Mišić.
