Mario Martinez (born 1953) is a Native American contemporary abstract painter. He is a member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe from New Penjamo (in Scottsdale, Arizona, Scottsdale), the smallest of six Yaqui people, Yaqui settlements, in Arizona. He currently lives in New York City. Education Martinez received his bachelor's degree from School of Art, Arizona State University in Tempe and his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Art career His work has been exhibited in 2005 in a one-person retrospective at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian in New York. Notable group exhibitions include: "Who Stole the Tee Pee?" at the National Museum of the American Indian, New York; "AlieNation" at the American Indian Community House Gallery. Mario Martínez Rubio (born 25 March 1985 in Soria) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Football career A product of hometown club CD Numancia's youth system, Mario first appeared with their first team during 2002–03's second division – two games – then played 34 times scoring three goals in the 2007–08 season as the Soria side returned to La Liga after a three-year absence. On 31 August 2008, four years after making his top-flight debut, Mario netted the only goal as Numancia surprisingly defeated FC Barcelona at home in what was Pep Guardiola's first league game as a manager. It would be his only in the campaign, as the team were immediately relegated. After only 13 league matches out of 42 in 2010–11 (one complete), the 26-year-old Mario was released by Numancia, signing with Real Unión of the third level. Mario Roberto Martínez Hernández (born 30 July 1989) is a Honduran footballer who plays as a midfielder for Marathón. Born in San Pedro Sula, Martínez played for the Honduras national football team from 2010 to 2018. Club career Martínez was spotted by Norwegian scouts during the tournament against Trinidad and Tobago and shortly after went on loan to Norwegian side, Vålerenga. He also travelled to Norway alongside U-20 teammate, Reinieri Mayorquín who went on loan to Aalesund. Martínez made his debut in Tippeligaen when Vålerenga lost 3–4 against Start on 3 May 2009, but were mostly playing for Vålerenga's reserve team in the Second Division. Martínez only got two appearances for Vålerenga, both coming on as a substitute. Mario Martínez, also known as ''Azabache'' (born 15 August 1965) is a Mexican former professional boxer best known for losing to Julio César Chávez for the then-vacant WBC Super Featherweight title on 13 September 1984. It is said that such bout catapulted Chavez's career. Professional career Mario Martínez became a professional boxer at the age of 16 in his native Guadalajara, Jalisco. He lost one of his early fights against fellow Mexican Rosendo Alonso, but knocked-out Spanish Roberto Castañón and Filipino former world champion Rolando Navarrete in 1984. His victory against Navarrete earned him a shot against Julio César Chávez for the vacant WBC Super Featherweight title on 13 September 1984.
