Mario Martínez Rubio (born 25 March 1985 in Soria) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Football career A product of hometown club CD Numancia's youth system, Mario first appeared with their first team during 2002–03's second division – two games – then played 34 times scoring three goals in the 2007–08 season as the Soria side returned to La Liga after a three-year absence. On 31 August 2008, four years after making his top-flight debut, Mario netted the only goal as Numancia surprisingly defeated FC Barcelona at home in what was Pep Guardiola's first league game as a manager. It would be his only in the campaign, as the team were immediately relegated. After only 13 league matches out of 42 in 2010–11 (one complete), the 26-year-old Mario was released by Numancia, signing with Real Unión of the third level. Soria
Soria () is a municipality and a Spanish city, located on the Douro river in the east of the autonomous community of Castile and León and capital of the province of Soria. Kalamáta ( el, Καλαμάτα ) is the second most populous city of the Peloponnese peninsula, after Patras, in southern Greece and the largest city of the homonymous administrative region. The 2008–09 La Liga season (known as the ''Liga BBVA'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 78th since its establishment. Josep "Pep" Guardiola Sala (; born 18 January 1971) is a Spanish professional football manager and former player, who is the current manager of club Manchester City. 2007–08 Segunda División
The 2007–08 season was the 77th in the history of the Segunda División (known as the Liga BBVA for sponsorship reasons), the second tier of the Spanish football league system. The first matches of the season were played on 25 August 2007, and the season ended on 15 June 2008. Celta de Vigo, Real Sociedad, and Gimnàstic de Tarragona were the teams which were relegated from La Liga the previous season.
