Marietta (band)
Marietta was an American emo band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. History Marietta began in late 2011. They released a split with Modern Baseball in 2012 titled ''Couples Therapy''. In 2013, Marietta released their first full-length album titled ''Summer Death''. In April 2015, Marietta released an EP titled ''Cuts''. On August 17, 2015, Marietta released their second full-length album titled ''As It Were''. In December 2015, Marietta announced on their Facebook page that they were breaking up. On May 1, 2020, Marietta released an EP called 'Summer Demos 2012' containing demos of songs produced when the band first formed. Midwest Emo
Midwest emo (or Midwestern emo) refers to the emo scene and/or subgenre that developed in 1990s Midwestern United States. Employing unconventional vocal stylings, distinct guitar riffs and arpeggiated melodies, Midwest emo bands shifted away from the genre's hardcore punk roots and drew on indie rock and math rock approaches. According to the author and critic Andy Greenwald, "this was the period when emo earned many, if not all, of the stereotypes that have lasted to this day: boy-driven, glasses-wearing, overly sensitive, overly brainy, chiming-guitar-driven college music."Greenwald, pp. 34–35. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Modern Baseball
Modern Baseball (MoBo) was an American emo band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania consisting of Bren Lukens, Jake Ewald, Sean Huber, and Ian Farmer. The band formed in 2012 at Drexel University and released their first album, ''Sports'', on Lame-O Records that same year. Their following albums, '' You're Gonna Miss It All'' and ''Holy Ghost'', were released on Run For Cover Records in 2014 and 2016 respectively. The group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2017. History Early years and success (2011–2016) Bren Lukens and Jake Ewald met in High School, when Lukens was interested in Ewald's twin sister.
