Mariya Nikolayevna Yayna (Мария Николаевна Яйна, born 25 January 1982) is a Russian female water polo player. She was a member of the Russia women's national water polo team, playing as a driver. She was a part of the team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. SKIF-CSP Izmailovo
SKIF-CSP Izmailovo (russian: СКИФ ШВСМ «Измайлово») is a Russian women's water polo team from Izmailovo, Moscow founded in 1991. Originally established as SKIF Moscow, it became a section of CSP Izmailovo in 2003. The team enjoyed its golden era through the second half of the 1990s, winning two European Cups in 1997 and 1999 in addition to four consecutive national championships between 1995 and 1998. SKIF also reached the 1998 and 2000 European Cup's finals, but it lost them to Orizzonte Catania and ANO Glyfada, and in 2001 it won the LEN Trophy. History In the Russian Empire Water polo in Russia dates back to 1910, when the sport was included into the national water sports programme. The women's water polo tournament at the 2004 Summer Olympics was contested between August 16 and August 26 at the Olympic Aquatic Centre in the Athens Olympic Sports Complex. Eight teams qualified for the Games, with Italy defeating the host nation Greece for the gold medal. The United States won the bronze medal.
