Maria Mena
Maria Viktoria Mena (born 19 February 1986) is a Norwegian pop singer, best known for her singles such as " You're the Only One", "Just Hold Me", "All This Time" which charted in multiple countries. Early life Maria Mena was born into an artistic family. Her father is a drummer. There was a common misconception that her mother is a playwright, but Mena debunked this in an interview. Both Maria and her brother, Tony, are named after characters from Leonard Bernstein's ''West Side Story''. Her mother is Norwegian and her father is an American of Afro-Nicaraguan descent. Her father played in several bands in Oslo, which influenced Mena to write and record her own music. When Mena was nine years old, her parents divorced. She suffered from depression and developed an eating disorder. When Mena was 13 years old, she moved to live with her father. She sang and wrote lyrics as a form of self-soothing. "You're the Only One" is a song by Norwegian pop musician Maria Mena. The song was included on her second studio album, '' Mellow'' (as well as the international version, ''White Turns Blue''), and was released as the album's first single in early 2004. In addition to becoming a number-eight hit in her native Norway, it was Mena's breakthrough hit internationally, charting within the top 40 in Denmark, the Netherlands and New Zealand. It was also her first single released in the United States, where it rose to number 86 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Stavernfestivalen
Stavernfestivalen is a yearly music festival held in Stavern, Norway at Larvik Golf Arena. The festival takes place in July, and in 2019 there were roughly 75 000 attendees over a three-day period. The very first festival took place in 2001, lasting a single day with 175 attendees. In 2002 it expanded to two days, and this lasted until 2011, after which the festival increased to three days. Relocation to the Larvik Golf Arena Up until 2014 the festival was arranged at Skråvika near Minnehallen in Stavern. In 2015 it relocated to the Larvik Golf Arena – a much larger, spacious area where the organizers could focus on further developing and improving the overall experience.
