Maria Cristina Metro Station
Maria Cristina is a station in the Barcelona Metro and Trambaix networks, in the Les Corts district of Barcelona. It is served by metro line L3 and tram lines T1, T2 and T3. The metro station is located under '' Avinguda Diagonal'', between ''Carrer del Doctor Ferran'' and ''Gran Via de Carles III''. It has two long side platforms. The tram station is located in the ''Avinguda Diagonal'', immediately above the metro station. Both stations lie in front of the La Caixa headquarters in La Maternitat i Sant Ramon. The metro station is named after Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina and was opened in 1975, along with the other stations of the section of L3 between Zona Universitària and Sants Estació stations. This section was originally operated separately from L3, and known as L3b, until the two sections were joined in 1982. Barcelona Metro
The Barcelona Metro (Catalan and Spanish: ) is an extensive network of rapid transit electrified railway lines that run mostly underground in central Barcelona and into the city's suburbs. It is part of the larger public transport system of Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, Spain, with unified fares under the (ATM) scheme. As of 2014, the network is operated by two separate companies: (TMB) and (FGC). It is made up of 12 lines, combining the lines owned by the two companies. Trambaix Stops
The Trambaix () is one of Barcelona's three tram systems. It is operated by TRAMMET connecting the Baix Llobregat area with the city of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It opened to the public on 5 April 2004 after a weekend when the tram could be used free of charge. The Trambaix includes three different routes (T1, T2 and T3). The tram route starts at Plaça Francesc Macià in Barcelona to the west of the city and extends west, passing L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat, Sant Joan Despí and Sant Just Desvern. An extension of Tram T3 opened on 8 December 2006, as far as Consell Comarcal in Sant Feliu de Llobregat. The yearly ridership of all of its lines combined is of 15,057,318 passengers as of 2008. Sants Estació (Barcelona Metro)
Sants Estació is a station in the Barcelona Metro network in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona. It serves the Barcelona Sants railway station, Barcelona's principal main line railway station, and is named Sants Estació to distinguish it from the nearby Plaça de Sants station also named after the Sants neighbourhood. It is served by line L3 and line L5. The line L3 section of the station is situated under Numància street, between Melcior Palau and Avinguda Josep Tarradellas. It has a hall at each side of the station. To access to the railway station it is necessary to go through line 5 hall. The station is equipped with numerous elevators, and has two side platforms that are in length. Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina () is an avenue in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona linking Plaça d'Espanya (Barcelona), Plaça d'Espanya with Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya on Montjuïc hill. La Maternitat I Sant Ramon
La Maternitat i Sant Ramon is a neighborhood in the '' les Corts'' district of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain), the westernmost area of the district, distinctly more working class than its neighbours Pedralbes and Les Corts and similar to the also neighbouring L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Sants. It was part of the former independent municipality of Les Corts, also known as les Corts de Sarrià. Its name stems from the 19th century maternity house known as La Maternitat, in Travessera de Les Corts, designed by Camil Oliveres i Gensana and which includes a large garden. It's made up of residential areas to the west such as Sant Ramon proper and the Torre Melina buildings, and the build-up areas of La Maternitat and Can Bacardí to the east. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway.
