Mari Saat
Mari Saat ( Mari Meel since 1975; born 27 September 1947 in Tallinn) is an Estonian writer. In 1970, Saat graduated from the Tallinn Polytechnical Institute's faculty of economics. Since 1976, she has been a member of the Estonian Writers' Union. During the period of 1983–1993, she was a professional writer. She is married to the artist Raul Meel. Tallinn
Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, Tallinn has a population of 437,811 (as of 2022) and administratively lies in the Harju ''maakond'' (county). Tallinn University Of Technology
Established in 1918, Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech; et, Tallinna Tehnikaülikool) is the only technical university in Estonia. TalTech, in the capital city of Tallinn, is a university for engineering, business, public administration and maritime affairs. TalTech has colleges in Tartu and Kohtla-Järve. The Estonian Writers Union (Eesti Kirjanike Liit, abbreviated EKL), is a professional association of Estonian writers and literary critics.Marje Jõeste, Küllo Arjakas, ''The Baltic States'', Estonian Encyclopaedia Publishers, 1991, page 64 History The Estonian Writers Union was founded on 8 October 1922 under the name ''Eesti Kirjanike Liit'' at the 3rd Congress of Estonian writers held at the Tallinn Town Hall.
