Marco Frigatti
Marco Frigatti (born 1970 in Venice, Italy) is the head of the global records management team for ''Guinness World Records''. He also starred in the Sky One television show ''Guinness World Records Smashed'' where he presides over all the record attempts as the show's chief adjudicator. As a student Frigatti studied languages at the Advanced School of Modern Languages in Trieste. His knowledge of language includes English, German, Italian, French, Dutch and Mandarin. Later he went on to a career in marketing and communications, which took him around Europe. After finally settling in London, he joined the Guinness World Records company, in 2003. Frigatti had a catchphrase on the Sky One show, just before a record attempt is undertaken he says: "Marco, Pronto" (translation: Marco, Ready). Guinness World Records
''Guinness World Records'', known from its inception in 1955 until 1999 as ''The Guinness Book of Records'' and in previous United States editions as ''The Guinness Book of World Records'', is a reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. The brainchild of Sir Hugh Beaver, the book was co-founded by twin brothers Norris and Ross McWhirter in Fleet Street, London, in August 1955. The first edition topped the best-seller list in the United Kingdom by Christmas 1955. The following year the book was launched internationally, and as of the 2022 edition, it is now in its 67th year of publication, published in 100 countries and 23 languages, and maintains over 53,000 records in its database. The international franchise has extended beyond print to include television series and museums. Sky One
Sky One was a British pay television channel operated and owned by Sky Group (a division of Comcast). Originally launched on 26 April 1982 as Satellite Television, it was Europe's first satellite and non-terrestrial channel. From 31 July 1989, it became Sky One and broadcast exclusively in the United Kingdom and Ireland as British Sky Broadcasting's flagship channel, being the most watched television service in history. It existed until 1 September 2021, when it closed down as part of a restructuring with its EPG position taken by Sky Showcase and much of its content library moved to Sky Max. Guinness World Records Smashed
''Guinness World Records Smashed'' is a British television show for Sky1, that features record attempts, celebrity guests and death-defying stunts. A one-off pilot episode was transmitted on 23 November 2008, and a full 10-part series was broadcast on Sky1 from 19 April to 21 June 2009. The show was produced by British independent production company, Outline Productions with Guinness World Records. Filming The pilot show was recorded in October 2008 at Teddington Studios and around London and invited people to partake in the filming to attempt to break existing world records. On the back of the November 2008 one-off programme, Sky1 ordered a 10-part series. The studio format invited members of the public to try to set new world records in everything from leaping through burning hoops to somersaulting over cars. ''The London Paper'' (stylised as ''thelondonpaper'') was a free daily newspaper, published by NI Free Newspapers Ltd, a subsidiary of News International (who also own the companies that publish '' The Sun'' and ''The Times''). It was available from Monday to Friday each week in Central London from 4 September 2006 until 18 September 2009 (its final print-run before closure).
