Mapandan, officially the Municipality of Mapandan ( pag, Baley na Mapandan; ilo, Ili ti Mapandan; tgl, Bayan ng Mapandan), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 38,058 people. Mapandan is known for its yearly ''Pandan'' ''Festival''. Etymology Mapandan (meaning plenty of pandan) got its name from “ pandan”, a native palm which grew in abundance in the place at that time. The leaves of the pandan add aroma to the cooked rice if cooked with it. The leaves are also stripped and woven into mats. History Mapandan was a former mere Barrio. That was former part of Municipality of Mangaldan. Mapandan is a Hall of Famer for having the Pangasinan's cleanest, safest and greenest municipality (Category B). Internal Revenue Allotment
The Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) is a local government unit’s (LGU) share of revenues from the Philippine national government. Provinces, independent cities, component cities, municipalities, and barangays each get a separate allotment. The allotment is largely based upon the type of government they are and a formula based upon their land area and population. Section 284 of the Local Government Code of the Philippines (RA 7160) sets up the formula for the distribution of the allotment. All or nearly all of the revenue that a local government has to spend comes from their IRA, though some local governments also have additional local sources of revenue such as property taxes and government fees. Binmaley
Binmaley, officially the Municipality of Binmaley ( pag, Baley na Binmaley; ilo, Ili ti Binmaley; tgl, Bayan ng Binmaley), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 86,881 people. Binmaley is located along the western coastland of Pangasinan facing the Lingayen Gulf, in between Lingayen and Dagupan City. Dagupan City
Dagupan, officially the City of Dagupan ( pag, Siyudad na Dagupan, ilo, Siudad ti Dagupan, fil, Lungsod ng Dagupan), is a 2nd class independent component city in the Ilocos Region, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 174,302 people. Located on the Lingayen Gulf on the northwest-central part of the island of Luzon, Dagupan is a major commercial and financial center north of Manila. Mangaldan, officially the Municipality of Mangaldan ( pag, Baley na Mangaldan; ilo, Ili ti Mangaldan; tgl, Bayan ng Mangaldan), is a 1st class municipality of the Philippines, municipality in the Philippine Province, province of Pangasinan, Philippines. ''Pandanus amaryllifolius'' is a tropical plant in the ''Pandanus'' (screwpine) genus, which is commonly known as pandan (; ). It has fragrant leaves which are used widely for flavouring in the cuisines of Southeast Asia and South Asia. Occurrence and habitat ''Pandanus amaryllifolius'' is a true cultigen, and is believed to have been domesticated in ancient times. It is sterile and can only reproduce vegetatively through suckers or cuttings. It was first described from specimens from the Maluku Islands, and the rare presence of male flowers in these specimens may indicate that it is the origin of the species.
