Mannem Nageswara Rao
Mannem Nageswara Rao is a former-interim Director officer Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from 24 October 2018 till 4 February 2019. He joined CBI in 2016 and is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 1986 batch and Odisha cadre. He served as Joint Director before being appointed as the Interim Director of CBI for 103 days. Rao is from Mangapet village of Warangal district in Telangana State. He is a chemistry post graduate from Osmania University, did his research in Madras IIT, before joining the IPS in 1986. His maternal uncle is Dhulipala Sambasiva Rao of Guntur. He is married to Guntur's Chinna Vishnu Narayana's daughter. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier investigating agency of India. It operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Originally set up to investigate bribery and governmental corruption, in 1965 it received expanded jurisdiction to investigate breaches of central laws enforceable by the Government of India, multi-state organised crime, multi-agency or international cases. The agency has been known to investigate several economic crimes, special crimes, cases of corruption and other cases. CBI is exempted from the provisions of the Right to Information Act. Alok Kumar Verma (born 14 July 1957) is a former Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation in India, who also served as Commissioner of Delhi Police and Director General of Tihar Jail. A 1979 batch IPS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories cadre, Verma has over 39 years of experience in the Indian Police Service (I PS). Warangal district, formerly Warangal Rural district, is a district in the Indian state of Telangana. The district shares boundaries with Mahabubabad, Jangaon, Hanamkonda, Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts.
