Manjacaze (''Manxakadze'') is a town in the province of Gaza, Mozambique. It serves as the administrative center of Manjacaze District. Manjacaze District
Manjacaze District is a district of Gaza Province in southwestern Mozambique. Its principal town is Manjacaze. The district is located at the south of the province, and borders with Panda District of Inhambane Province in the north, Inharrime and Zavala Districts of Inhambane Province in the east, Xai-Xai District in the south, and with Chibuto District in the west. In the southeast, the district is limited by the Indian Ocean. The area of the district is . It has a population of 166,488 as of 2007. Eduardo Mondlane
Eduardo Chivambo Mondlane (20 June 1920 – 3 February 1969) was the President of the Mozambican Liberation Front (FRELIMO) from 1962, the year that FRELIMO was founded in Tanzania, until his assassination in 1969. Born in Mozambique, he was an anthropologist by profession, and worked as a history and sociology professor at Syracuse University before returning to Mozambique in 1963. Gaza is a province of Mozambique. It has an area of 75,709 km2 and a population of 1,422,460 (2017 census), which is the least populous of all the provinces of Mozambique. Paulina Chiziane
Paulina "Poulli" Chiziane (born 4 June 1955, Manjacaze, southern province of Gaza, Mozambique) is an author of novels and short stories in the Portuguese language. She was awarded the 2021 Camões Prize for literature, awarded to writers from Portuguese-speaking countries. Early life She studied at Eduardo Mondlane University, Maputo. She was born to a Bantu Protestant family that moved from Gaza to the capital Maputo (then Lourenço Marques) during the writer's early childhood. At home she spoke Chopi and Ronga. Writing Chiziane was the first woman in Mozambique to publish a novel. Her writing has generated some polemical discussions about social issues, such as the practice of polygamy in the country. Xai-Xai () is a city in the south of Mozambique. Until 1975, the city was named João Belo. It is the capital of Gaza Province. As of 2007 it has a population of 116,343. Cashew
The cashew tree (''Anacardium occidentale'') is a tropical evergreen tree native to South America in the genus ''Anacardium'' that produces the cashew seed and the cashew apple accessory fruit. The tree can grow as tall as , but the dwarf cultivars, growing up to , prove more profitable, with earlier maturity and greater yields. The cashew seed is commonly considered a snack nut (cashew nut) eaten on its own, used in recipes, or processed into cashew cheese or cashew butter.
