Mangala Bansode
Mangala Bansode is an Indian Tamasha folk artist popularly known as ‘Sangeetachi Rani’, from the Maharashtra & She is daughter of the Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, she has won the Vithabai Narayangaonkar Lifetime Achievement Award awarded by government of Maharashtra. She works along with her son NItin, who is fifth generation of her family in the line. It has been said that she is the only woman owner of a tamasha troupe named Loknatya Tamasha Mandal in Maharashtra. She is from the Village of Karawadi near Karad. Her troupe has 150 persons in employment. Anecdotes In January 2016 just before her performance in the Goa Lokotsav, a rumour spread about her death that she had to scotch by going to press. In the 2013 season her troupe received the biggest payment advances amongst all at Narayangaon's tamasha fair. Tamasha
Tamasha ( mr, तमाशा) is a traditional form of Marathi theatre, often with singing and dancing, widely performed by local or travelling theatre groups within the state of Maharashtra, India."Tamasha", in James R. Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar
Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar (July 1935 – 15 January 2002) was an Indian dancer, singer and Tamasha artist. Early life and career Vithabai was born and grew up in a family of artists. She was born in the city of Pandharpur, Solapur district, Maharashtra. Bhau-Bapu Mang Narayangaonkar was the family troupe run by her father and uncle. Her grandfather Narayan Khude set up the troupe. He was from Kavathe Yamai, in Shirur taluka of Pune district. Since childhood, she was exposed to the various forms of songs like Lavanya, Gavlan, Bhedik, etc. As a student she did not fare very well in school, although she performed with effortless beauty on stage, right from a very young age without any formal training. Karad
Karad is a city in Satara district of Indian state of Maharashtra and it is 320 km (180.19 miles) from Mumbai and 159 km from Pune. It lies at the confluence of Koyna River and the Krishna River known as the "Priti sangam". The two rivers originate at Mahabaleshwar (famous hill station in Satara- Maharashtra), which is around 100 km from Karad. Narayangaon is a town in the Junnar taluka of the Pune district of Maharashtra state, India. Water is abundant because of its proximity to the major dams, the western ghats, and the Sahyadri mountain range.
