Manaivi Solle Manthiram
''Manaivi Solle Manthiram'' () is a 1983 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by Rama Narayanan and produced and written by P. Kalaimani. The film stars Mohan, Nalini, Pandiyan and Ilavarasi. The film had musical score by Ilaiyaraaja. This film was dubbed in Telugu as ''Kodalu Diddina Kaapuram''. Plot Thyagu (Mohan), a doctor by profession falls in love with Selvi (Nalini) and their wedding is planned. However, Thyagu's parents (Venniradai Moorthy and Rajasulochana) demands huge dowry for which Selvi's father (Kallapati Singaram) agrees and pays off by selling his property. Post marriage, Selvi finds Thyagu's parents to be irresponsible who just prefer spending money lavishly. They end up spending the entire money which they received as dowry from Selvi's father. Rama Narayanan
Rama Narayanan (3 April 1949 – 22 June 2014) was an Indian film director and producer. In the 1980s, he was known as a director who specialized in shooting commercial films in which animals played vital roles, while in the 1990s, several of his films were based on Hindu devotional subjects. He has also headed the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) for three consecutive elections, before resigning in 2011. He died on 22 June 2014 at a Singapore hospital due to kidney-related ailments. Career Narayanan came to Chennai intending to become a songwriter, but he became a dialogue writer for films. He and his friend M. A. Personal life Gangai Amaran was born in Pannaipuram in Theni district, Tamil Nadu in December 1947, as the youngest son of Daniel Ramaswamy and Chinnathayi. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child.
