Majd Shweikeh
Majd Shweikeh (born 8 March 1966) is a Jordanian businesswoman and politician. From March 2015 until June 2018 she had been Minister of information and communications technology. She previously served as CEO at Orange Mobile and VTEL. Career Shweikeh studied Finance at Yarmouk University, and obtained a BsC with honors. From 2000 to January 2006 Shweikeh was CFO of Orange Mobile, she then became CEO of Orange Mobile and Vice President of Jordan Telecom Group, which she remained until May 2010. In July 2010 she was named CEO of VTEL Holdings, and in June 2011, Group CEO of VTEL Middle East and Africa Limited. After denouncing on Twitter the lack of women on boards of trustees of Jordanian universities, Shweikeh was asked to meet Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour in his office. Abdullah II Of Jordan
Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein ( ar, عبدالله الثاني بن الحسين , translit=ʿAbd Allāh aṯ-ṯānī ibn al-Ḥusayn; born 30 January 1962) is King of Jordan, having ascended the throne on 7 February 1999. He is a member of the Hashemite dynasty, who have been the reigning royal family of Jordan since 1921, and is considered a 41st-generation direct descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Abdullah was born in Amman as the first child of King Hussein and his second wife, Princess Muna. Hani Al-Mulki's Cabinet
The Prime Minister of Jordan, Hani Al-Mulki, was tasked with forming a cabinet on 29 May 2016. The new cabinet was sworn in by King Abdullah II on 1 June 2016. After the September 2016 general election, Mulki formed a new cabinet. The Cabinet consisted of 28 members, three of them also serving as Deputy Prime Ministers. 11 Ministers returned from the latest formation of the previous cabinet of Abdullah Ensour, while 9 others had served in earlier cabinets. 8 Ministers had no previous experience in cabinet. ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib ( ar, عَلِيّ بْن أَبِي طَالِب; 600 – 661 CE) was the last of four Rightly Guided Caliphs to rule Islam (r. 656 – 661) immediately after the death of Muhammad, and he was the first Shia Imam. The prime minister of Jordan, Abdullah Ensour, formed his second cabinet in March 2013. The new cabinet was sworn in before King Abdullah II on 30 March 2013. On 23 April 2013, the parliament approved the cabinet with 83 votes in favor and 65 votes against. It was the 77th government of Jordan. In addition, it was the thirteenth government formed during the reign of King Abdullah who ascended to the throne in 1999. Structure The cabinet was initially made up of 19 members. The number of portfolios in the first cabinet of Ensour was 21. Of the cabinet members excluding Ensour, four retained their previous posts in the first cabinet. Abdullah Ensour ( ; ar, عبد الله النسور '; born 20 January 1939) is a Jordanian economist who served as the 40th Prime Minister of Jordan between October 2012 and May 2016. A veteran politician, he has held various cabinet positions in Jordanian government in addition to being prime minister. Early life Ensour was born in Salt.
