MTV Portugal
MTV is a Portuguese pay television channel that was launched on 1 July 2003, replacing MTV Europe in Portugal. A high-definition simulcast feed of the channel launched on 17 June 2015. In its initial stages MTV Portugal shared similar content to MTV Spain and MTV Italy, while also airing programming from MTV US and MTV Europe. There was a strong focus on music content but gradually the channel began to air reality shows similar to other MTV channels. The channel was launched in Portugal with the support of private broadcaster SIC as it previously had a MTV branded block in the early 1990s. The channel is based at MTV Networks Europe in London and supported by a local office is Lisbon. In Spring 2011, MTV Portugal began to air new localised programming. 1080i
1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. A related display resolution is 1080p, which also has 1080 lines of resolution; the "p" refers to progressive scan, which indicates that the lines of resolution for each frame are "drawn" on the screen in sequence. It used to be available on the Spanish digital terrestrial television platform between 2010 and 2014, until it moved back to pay television due to a low audience figure. Almada
Almada () is a city and a municipality in Portugal, located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. MTV is a Latin American pay television network that was launched on 1 October 1993 as the Hispanic American version of MTV. It is owned by Paramount Networks Americas, a subsidiary of Paramount Global. The channel broadcasts music videos as well as reality shows, TV series and movies, which may be directly or indirectly related to music, aimed at the youth. Its schedule is focused on certain musical genres, mainly pop, rock mix, reggaeton (since 2005), hip hop, trap, electronic music, and K-pop (since 2018). GandÃa Shore
''GandÃa Shore'' is a Spanish reality television series broadcast on MTV. It premiered on 14 October 2012 and is the Spanish adaptation of American show '' Jersey Shore''. It follows the same format as the American and British (''Geordie Shore'') versions. The show follows the lives of eight participants who live in the Valencian town of Gandia. It premiered 14 October 2012, and broke MTV Spain's all-time ratings record, with 948,000 viewers and a market share of 4.8%, figures that more than double the ''Jersey Shore'' premieres on the Spanish channel. Just Tattoo Of Us
''Just Tattoo of Us'' is an MTV British entertainment reality tattoo programme that follows couples, friends, or family members as they go to the Just Tattoo of Us parlour to design each other's tattoo. Announced in November 2016 by MTV the series began airing on 3 April 2017 and has aired a total of four series of the show up to 6 May 2019, a fifth series has been confirmed and began on 18 November 2019. In March 2020, it was confirmed by MTV that the show would be rested to make room for new upcoming shows. Summary The show follows Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear as they open the doors to the 'Just Tattoo of Us' tattoo parlour in London. ''Geordie Shore'' is a British reality television series that was broadcast on MTV between 24 May 2011 and 22 November 2022. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England it was the British offshoot of the American show ''Jersey Shore''. The programme follows the daily lives of 8–12 housemates, as they live together for a number of weeks. In the first series, the house was located in Jesmond, a suburb of Newcastle. Since the second series, the show has used a house in the Oceana Business Park in Wallsend. MTV2
MTV2 (formerly M2) is an American pay television channel owned by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel launched initially as an all-music video service, once the original MTV had started to shift its programming. As with its parent network, MTV2's focus on music programming would gradually be downplayed during the 2000s. By 2011, MTV2 would primarily target young adult men with original and acquired lifestyle and reality programming, reruns of male-targeting shows from MTV, acquired sitcoms and movies, and a daily block of hip hop and rock genre videos in the early mornings. Filomena Cautela
Filomena Cautela (born 16 December 1984) is a Portuguese television presenter and actress. Cautela started her acting career in the theatre in the year 2000. In 2004, she made her debut in cinema, and in 2005, she was cast as a presenter by MTV Portugal. Career Filomena continued acting for both theatre and cinema whilst her television presenter career took her to different TV stations and new shows. She has been hosting the late prime talk show '' 5 Para A Meia-Noite'' on RTP since 2015. Among other projects she was the Green Room presenter on the Portuguese national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, ''Festival da Canção'' in 2017, and was the Portuguese jury spokesperson in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
