MS Jupiter
The ''Jupiter'' was a cruiseferry owned and operated by Vietnamese Jupiter Cruises. The vessel operated cruises between Sihanoukville and the island of Phú Quốc. It sank November 2017 with 17 deaths, having been moored since 2010. This ship not to be confused with Viking Jupiter(2019) History The ''Jupiter'' was built at the Dubegion-Normandie shipyard in Nantes in 1974 for FÅA / Silja Line. The vessel entered service between Helsinki and Stockholm in July 1975 as the ''Wellamo''. In 1981 the super ferries ''Silvia Regina'' and ''Finlandia'' entered service on the Helsinki – Stockholm route. The ''Wellamo'' was no longer required and was sold to DFDS. The vessel was renamed ''Dana Gloria'' and placed on the Esbjerg – Newcastle route. Between 1984 and 1985 the ''Dana Gloria'' was chartered back to Silja Line. Melkøya
Melkøya ( sme, Muolkkut) is an island in Hammerfest Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The island is connected to the town of Hammerfest (on the neighboring island of Kvaløya to the west) by the Melkøysund Tunnel which was completed in 2003. The industrial island is the endpoint of the undersea pipeline that transports natural gas from the Snøhvit natural gas fields in the Barents Sea. The gas goes through the long pipeline to the processing plant Hammerfest LNG on Melkøya where 18 million cubic meters per day is converted into liquefied natural gas. The plant opened in 2007 and it is operated by Equinor. After a fire closed the plant in 2020, it re-opened in 2022. Liquefied natural gas is then exported from Melkøya to world markets by a LNG gas carrier or tanker. Meyer Werft
Meyer Werft is one of the major German shipyards, headquartered in Papenburg at the river Ems. Founded in 1795 and starting with small wooden vessels, today Meyer Werft is a builder of luxury passenger ships. 700 ships of different types have been built at the yard. Its "Dockhalle 2" is the third largest shipbuilding hall and the building with the fifth-largest usable volume in the world as of 2022. Meyer Werft has been owned and managed by the Meyer family for seven generations. Since 1997, it has been part of the Meyer Neptun Group, together with Neptun Werft in Rostock. In 2014, the company added the Turku shipyard in Finland to the group. The shipyard is an anchor on the European Route of Industrial Heritage. MS ''Stena Saga'' is a cruiseferry owned by the Swedish shipping company Stena Line and was operating mainly on their route connecting Oslo, Norway to Frederikshavn, Denmark until March 2020, after that the route was closed down. She was built as MS ''Silvia Regina'' in 1981 by Wärtsilä in Turku, Finland, for Rederi AB Svea for use in Silja Line traffic. The ship joined the Stena Line fleet in 1991, originally with the name MS ''Stena Britannica''.
