MOL Trucks
MOL is a manufacturer of specialist trucks and trailers, based in Hooglede, Belgium. It was founded in 1944. In the 1970s, MOL made a variety of oilfield trucks with air-cooled Magirus Deutz engines. MOL bought the rights to Willème truck designs, and some MOL ballast tractors continued to be based on these trucks for some years, after Willème went bankrupt. MOL continues to export heavy oilfield trucks. MOL also took over BREC project to build KFM "Desert Lion" trucks; MOL expanded and upgraded the design, and sold it as the MOL-Brec TB 800. These were 6x6 offroad tractors for desert conditions, with 816 hp MWM V12 engines and 26 tonne unladen weight. MOL also made matching trailers, with additional 400 hp engines. In 2014, Enafor ordered ten HF5066 and 55 HF7566 trucks, to haul oil exploration equipment in the Sahara. These are fitted with Cummins QSX15 engines and Allison transmissions. Hooglede
Hooglede (; vls, Ooglee) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of and Hooglede proper. On January 1, 2006, Hooglede had a total population of 9,831. The total area is 37.84 km² which gives a population density of 260 inhabitants per km². Hooglede-Gits was the site of the 2007 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. Hooglede houses one of the 4 German War Cemeteries in Belgium, the Hooglede German War Cemetery. Magirus Deutz
Magirus GmbH is a truck manufacturer based in Ulm, Germany, founded by Conrad Dietrich Magirus (1824–1895). It was formerly known as Klöckner Humboldt Deutz AG, maker of the Deutz AG, Deutz engines, so the brand commonly used was Magirus Deutz, and for a short time Klöckner. Most trucks from Magirus were also known as Magirus-Deutz. The logo of Magirus Deutz was a stylised M with a sharp, long centre point to represent the spire of Ulm Minster. Magirus is one of the largest manufacturers of fire fighting equipment. Willème
Willème was a French truck manufacturer. History Willème was founded in 1923 by Louis Willeme, after working for Automobiles Grégoire. Most were made with Deutz AG engines; some with in-house engines; some with AEC. In the 1960s, Willème also sold rebadged AEC and BMC trucks. Willème went bankrupt in 1970 and were taken over by PRP ( Perez et Raymond), who continued to produce Willème's TG range of trucks. Eventually, some MOL Trucks were based on Willème designs. Some Willème heavy-haul trucks are still in service. Products Willème specialised in heavy haulage roadtractors and large lorries. Ballast Tractor
A ballast tractor is a specially weighted tractor unit of a heavy hauler combination. It is designed to utilize a drawbar to pull or push heavy or exceptionally large trailer loads which are loaded in a hydraulic modular trailer. When feasible, lowboy-style semi-trailers are used to minimize a load's center of gravity. Typical drivetrains are 6×4 and 6×6 but also available in 8×6 and 8×8. Typical ballast tractor loads include oil rig modules, bridge sections, buildings, ship sections, and industrial machinery such as generators and turbines. Only a handful of manufacturers produce dedicated ballast tractors. Extra-heavy-duty chassis versions of mass-production tractor units are fitted with drawbar hitches and a separate ballast box as an alternative. Cummins QSX15
The Cummins X-series engine is an Inline (Straight)-6 diesel engine produced by Cummins for heavy duty trucks and motorcoaches, replacing the N14 in 2001 when emissions regulations passed by the EPA made the engine obsolete. Originally called the "Signature" series engine, the ISX uses the "Interact System" (hence the "IS" which is the moniker for the full authority, on highway fuel system Cummins pioneered) to further improve the engine. This engine is widely used in on highway and vocational trucks and is available in power ranging from 430 hp all the way to 620 hp 2050 lb-ft.
