METRORail Purple Line
The Purple Line is a METRORail light rail/streetcar route operated by METRO in Houston, Texas, serving Southeast Houston. The line opened on May 23, 2015. Route The Purple Line begins at its northern terminus at Smith Street with split tracks on Capitol and Rusk Streets. The northbound track will run along Capitol Street in downtown, while its southbound counterpart will run down Rusk Street. Both of these downtown sections involve street running in mixed traffic like a traditional streetcar line. Four of the line's stations will be in downtown with stops at Smith, Main, Fannin, and Crawford. Transfers to the Red Line will occur at the Fannin Station. METRORail Green Line
The Green Line is a METRORail light rail/tram, streetcar line operated by Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas, METRO in Houston, Texas, serving the East End, Houston, East End area. The first seven-station segment of this line opened on May 23, 2015. The two-station eastern end of this route was delayed due to issues over crossing Union Pacific Railroad tracks, but eventually opened in January 2017. Route Between Theater District and EaDo/Stadium stations, the Green Line shares tracks with the METRORail Purple Line, Purple Line. In downtown, the eastbound track runs along Capitol Street, while its westbound counterpart runs along Rusk Street. Central Station is a light rail station served by METRORail in downtown Houston, Texas, United States. It serves as a major transfer point between the Red, Purple and Green lines. It is the busiest station on the Green and Purple lines. Houston Dynamo FC (formerly officially, but still commonly, called the Houston Dynamo) is an American professional soccer club based in Houston. The Dynamo compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference.
