MCB Tour Championship
The MCB Tour Championship is a men's senior (over 50) professional golf tournament on the European Senior Tour. It has been held every year, in December, since 2009. In 2009 and 2010 it was called the Mauritius Commercial Bank Open and was played at the start of the season, while from 2011 to 2017 it was the final event of the season. It was played at the Constance Belle Mare Plage in Mauritius. In 2017, the prize fund was €450,000. In 2018 the Tour Championship consisted of two tournaments. The MCB Tour Championship Mauritius was played at Constance Belle Mare Plage followed by MCB Tour Championship Seychelles the following week, played at Constance Lemuria, Praslin Island, Seychelles. James Kingston
James Hubert Kingston (born 30 November 1965) is a South African professional golfer. Career Kingston was born in Ottosdal, South Africa. He turned professional in 1988, and is currently a member of the European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He has also competed on the Asian Tour, where he collected four tournament victories. In 2007, Kingston finished top of the Order of Merit on the Sunshine Tour, aided by his victory at the European Tour co-sanctioned South African Airways Open. That win was his first on the European Tour, and helped him to his best Order of Merit finish of 17th in 2008. Victory at the Sunshine Tour's Vodacom Championship in February 2008, lifted Kingston into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time. Phillip Price
John Phillip Price (born 21 October 1966) is a Welsh professional golfer who plays on the European Senior Tour. He won three European Tour events between 1994 and 2003 and played in the 2002 Ryder Cup. Early life Price was born in 1966 in Pontypridd. He currently resides in Newport. Professional golfer Price turned professional in 1989 and qualified for membership of the European Tour for the 1991 season via the 1990 Qualifying School. His best year on the tour came in 2000, when he finished eighth on the Order of Merit. His other top ten placing came in 2003, when he was tenth. He has three tournament wins on the European Tour. Roger Chapman (golfer)
Roger Michael Chapman (born 1 May 1959) is an English professional golfer who played on the European Tour and later on the PGA Tour Champions. He now plays on the European Senior Tour. He won two senior majors in 2012, the Senior PGA Championship and the U.S. Senior Open. Amateur career Chapman was born in Nakuru, Kenya, where his father worked for the Ministry of Agriculture. After a spell living in Trinidad, the family returned to England when Chapman was about five years old. His biggest individual successes as an amateur were winning the 1979 English Amateur and the 1981 Lytham Trophy. He represented Great Britain & Ireland in the 1981 Walker Cup where, although the United States won the match 15–9, Chapman won three of his four matches. 2018 European Senior Tour
The 2018 Staysure Tour was the 27th season of the European Senior Tour, the professional golf tour for men aged 50 and above operated by the PGA European Tour. The season was officially called the Staysure Tour after UK-based insurance company Staysure became the Tour's first-ever title sponsor. Tournament results The 2018 schedule consisted of 19 events, including three new tournaments. In addition to new events in Denmark and Spain, the 2018 season ended in the Seychelles after the announcement of the inaugural MCB Tour Championship Indian Ocean Swing. The PGA Seniors Championship which had not been played since 2015 returned as the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship. Jean-François Remésy
Jean-François Remésy (born 5 June 1964), also known as Jeff Remésy, is a French professional golfer. Career Remésy was born in Nîmes, Occitania. He won the French Amateur Championship in 1985 and turned professional in 1987. For much of his career he has struggled to establish himself as a tour golfer, and he has made over a dozen trips to the European Tour Qualifying School. His first professional win came in a small tournament in France in 1991 and he won on the Challenge Tour in 1994, but he didn't break into the top 100 on the European Tour Order of Merit until 1999. That year he won the Estoril Open on the main tour, and he has continued to progress since then. Juan Quirós
Juan Quirós Segura (born 25 February 1956) is a Spanish professional golfer. Quirós was born in La Linea, Andalusia. He played on the European Tour most seasons from 1983 to 2000, making the top one hundred on the Order of Merit three times. His best tournament finish was as joint runner-up in the 1994 Turespana Open de Tenerife. Barry Lane
Barry Douglas Lane (21 June 1960 – 31 December 2022) was an English professional golfer. He won five official European Tour events between 1988 and 2004. He played in the 1993 Ryder Cup and won the inaugural Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf in late 1995. After reaching 50 he had considerable success on the European Senior Tour, winning eight times between 2010 and 2019. Early life Lane was born in Hayes, Middlesex but grew up in Bracknell. He only took up golf at the age of 14 but became an assistant professional at nearby Downshire Golf Club in 1976, at the age of 16. He was an assistant at Downshire for 8 years. Peter Fowler
Peter Randall Fowler (born 9 June 1959) is an Australian golfer who plays on the PGA Tour of Australasia and European Senior Tour. Career Fowler was born in Hornsby, New South Wales. He turned professional in 1977 and won the Australian Open in 1983. He has spent a large part of his career playing on the European Tour, where he made the top one hundred on the Order of Merit every year from 1983 to 1993, with a best ranking of 22nd in 1989. His only European Tour win came at the 1993 BMW International Open in Germany. Jarmo Sakari Sandelin (born 10 May 1967) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the European Senior Tour. He had five European Tour wins and played in the 1999 Ryder Cup. Early life Sandelin was born in Imatra, Finland, but grew up in Sweden and became a Swedish citizen. Professional career Sandelin turned professional in 1987 and despite several visits to qualifying school, did not win a place on the European Tour until 1995 when he graduated from the second tier Challenge Tour by finishing in 9th place on the end of season rankings in 1994.
