München Rangers
The München Rangers are an American football team from Munich (German: ''München'') Germany. The club had its most successful era between 1987 and 1991 when it played in the ''American Football-Bundesliga'', now the German Football League and qualified for the play-offs just once, in 1990. After more than two decades in regional football leagues the club made a return to the national leagues when it won promotion to the German Football League 2, the second tier of league football in Germany, in 2014. History The club was formed in 1981 out of the youth team of the Munich Cowboys. The Rangers entered league football in 1983 in the ''2. is divided into a northern and southern division, with eight teams in each division. Unlike the GFL, there are no inter conference games and no GFL2 champion is determined. For the 2011 season, both the northern and the southern champions were promoted, while the runners-up of the two divisions played the last placed team in the GFL division above for another spot in the league in 2012.

Nürnberg Rams
The Nürnberg Rams are an American football team from Nuremberg (German: ''Nürnberg'') Germany. The original Nürnberg Rams club was formed in 1981 and renamed to Noris Rams in 1987. It played in the American football in the Bundesliga League, now the German Football League, from 1983 to 1998, reaching the play-off semifinals as its greatest success in 1987. The club became defunct in 1998 but was reformed in 2007. History The origins of the Nürnberg Rams go back to early 1981 when two players of the Ansbach Grizzlies began forming an American football team in Nuremberg. In September 1981 this team joined local sports club TSV 1846 Nürnberg and, in 1982 the Rams joined the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of American football in Germany. The Rams won this league in its first season and earned promotion to the Bundesliga. The club spent the next sixteen seasons at this level, reaching the play-offs in all but two of those years.

2016 German Football League
The 2016 German Football League season was the 38th edition of the top-level American football competition in Germany and seventeenth since the renaming of the ''American Football Bundesliga'' to German Football league. The regular season started on 16 April and finished on 10 September 2016, followed by the play-offs. The season culminated in the German Bowl XXXVIII, held on 8 October 2016 in Berlin. The championship was won by the New Yorker Lions who defeated the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns 31–20 in a repeat of the 2014 and 2015 finals, which the Lions had also won. Modus During the regular season each club plays all other clubs in its division twice, home and away, resulting in each team playing 14 regular season games. There are no games between clubs from opposite divisions, interconference games having been abolished after the 2011 season when the GFL was expanded from 14 to 16 teams.
