Môn FM
Môn FM is a bilingual community radio station serving Anglesey and Gwynedd. The station broadcasts on 96.8, 102.1 and 102.5 FM and online from studios in Llangefni town centre. Overview MônFM broadcasts around 80 hours a week of locally-oriented music and speech programming in English and Welsh, including local news and current affairs features, sports, specialist music shows and events coverage. Most of MônFM's programming is produced and presented locally by volunteers, except for national news bulletins produced by Sky News Radio in London 24 hours a day. The station's FM signal also extends to cover large parts of north Gwynedd. In recent years, MônFM's editorial content has been expanded beyond its primary Anglesey TSA (target service area) to provide ample coverage of the mainland county. Llangefni
Llangefni (meaning "church on the River Cefni", ) is the county town of Anglesey in Wales and contains the principal offices of the Isle of Anglesey County Council. United Kingdom Census 2011 recorded Llangefni's population as 5,116 people, making it the second largest settlement in the county. The community includes the village of Rhosmeirch. Location The town is near the centre of Anglesey, and is on the River Cefni, after which it is named. Anglesey
Anglesey (; cy, (Ynys) Môn ) is an island off the north-west coast of Wales. It forms a principal area known as the Isle of Anglesey, that includes Holy Island across the narrow Cymyran Strait and some islets and skerries. Anglesey island, at , is the largest in Wales, the seventh largest in Britain, largest in the Irish Sea and second most populous there after the Isle of Man. Gwynedd
Gwynedd (; ) is a county and preserved county (latter with differing boundaries; includes the Isle of Anglesey) in the north-west of Wales. It shares borders with Powys, Conwy County Borough, Denbighshire, Anglesey over the Menai Strait, and Ceredigion over the River Dyfi. Sky News Radio is the radio arm of Sky News, owned by Sky UK. It has been operating since June 1999, providing a news bulletin service for UK commercial radio stations operators across the UK and for a number of English-speaking radio stations around the world. Gwalchmai, Anglesey
Gwalchmai () is a village on Anglesey in north Wales, within the Trewalchmai community. The community's population in the 2011 census was 1009. The village is considered to be named after the 12th-century court poet Gwalchmai ap Meilyr, whose own name may be derived from that of the Welsh hero known as Gwalchmei ap Gwyar, who became the Gawain of later Arthurian legend. Penmynydd
Penmynydd (; ), meaning "top of the mountain" in Welsh, is a village and community on Anglesey, Wales. It is known for being the birthplace of the Tudors of Penmynydd, which became the House of Tudor. The population according to the United Kingdom Census 2011 was 465. Nebo, Anglesey
Nebo is a hamlet in the Community (Wales), community of Llaneilian, Anglesey, in north-west Wales. It is 140.1 miles (225.4 km) from Cardiff and 218.6 miles (351.8 km) from London. The village is east of Penysarn, near the top of a hill known as Mynydd Nebo. Name and origins An early arrival at what is now a small hamlet was Nebo Calvinistic Methodists, Calvinistic Methodist Chapel, which was first established here in 1788. The chapel itself was named after Mount Nebo (now in Jordan), the mountain from which Moses is described as seeing the promised land. Amlwch
Amlwch (; ) is a port town and community in Wales. It is situated on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey, on the A5025 which connects it to Holyhead and to Menai Bridge. As well as Amlwch town and Amlwch Port, other settlements within the community include Burwen, Porthllethog/Bull Bay and Pentrefelin. The town has a beach in Llaneilian, and it has significant coastal cliffs. Tourism is an important element of the local economy. The Community Radio Awards are an accolade bestowed upon creatives in the community sector of broadcast radio in the United Kingdom. The awards showcase the work of community radio volunteers. History The Community Radio Awards were founded in 2016 by Martin Steers.
