Conny Méndez
Juana María de la Concepción Méndez Guzmán, commonly referred as Conny Méndez (11 April 1898 – 26 November 1979) was a Venezuelan composer, singer, writer, caricaturist, actress and metaphysicist. Biography Her parents were the poet Eugenio Mendez y Mendoza and Lastenia Guzman. Her schooling was in Caracas and New York City. In New York, Mendez studied paint in the Art Student's and music in the New School of Music. During the 1920s she returned to Caracas, and collaborated as a writer and caricaturist in different magazines and newspapers, including El Nuevo Diario, Elite and Nosotras. These cartoons were collected in the work Bistury: Album de caricaturas (1931). In 1946 Mendez founded the Christian Metaphysics movement in Venezuela, under the influence of Count Saint-Germain, the European occultist. Rafael Méndez
Rafael Méndez (March 26, 1906 – September 15, 1981) was a Mexican virtuoso solo trumpeter. He is known as the " Heifetz of the Trumpet." Early life Méndez was born in Jiquilpan, Michoacán, Mexico to a musical family. As a child, he performed as a cornetist for guerrilla leader Pancho Villa, becoming a favorite musician of his and required to remain with Villa's camp. Nora Méndez (born March 24, 1969) is a Salvadoran poet. Biography Born in San Salvador, Méndez studied sociology and communication at the University of El Salvador. She has been described as a "resistance poet", writing verse in response to the political situation in El Salvador. At one time a political prisoner, she later became active with ASTAC, the Salvadoran Association of Cultural Workers. Other themes of her work include domestic violence and the status of women in her country. Her work has appeared in several anthologies, beginning with ''Poets of the Resistance'', published by the University of Michigan in 1996. Luis Fernando Castillo Mendez (4 December 1922 – 29 October 2009) was a Venezuelan Independent Catholic priest who rose to the leadership of the Brazilian Catholic Apostolic Church (ICAB). Castillo Mendez was arguably the second or third patriarch of ICAB and its 48 dioceses, although none of his predecessors used that title. He was apparently the nominal head of a network of ''Iglesias Catolicas Apostolicas Nacionales'' (ICAN) or ''National Catholic Apostolic Churches'' and the Worldwide Communion of Catholic Apostolic National Churches (WCCAC), which were unsuccessful attempts to form an international association of Independent Catholic churches.
