Myklebustad or Myklebostad is a village in the municipality of Rana in Nordland county, Norway. It is located along Norwegian County Road 17 on the southern bank of the Sjona fjord, just west of the villages of Mæla and Utskarpen. Sjona Church is located in the western part of Myklebustad, serving the western part of Rana municipality. The district surrounding the inner part of the Sjona fjord originally belonged to the municipality of Nesna. Rana is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Mo i Rana, which houses the National Library of Norway. Other population centers in Rana include Båsmoen, Dunderland, Eiteråga, Flostrand, Hauknes, Mæla, Myklebustad, Nevernes, Røssvoll, Selfors, Skonseng, Storforshei, Utskarpen, and Ytteren. Sjona
Sjona is a fjord in Nordland county, Norway. The fjord begins in the municipality of Rana and flows to the west through Nesna and Lurøy municipalities into the sea. The islands of Handnesøya and Tomma lie at the mouth of the fjord. The deepest part of the fjord reaches below sea level. Norwegian County Road 17 follows the entire coast of the fjord. Sjona Church
Sjona Church ( no, Sjona kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Rana Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Myklebustad. It is the church for the Sjona parish which is part of the Indre Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1896 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 170 people. History The building was first constructed in 1896 to serve as a local prayer house. In 1916, the church was consecrated as an annex chapel. In 2003, the chapel was upgraded to full parish church status. Utskarpen
Utskarpen is a village in the municipality of Rana in Nordland county, Norway, about west of the town of Mo i Rana. The village is located at the end of the Utskarpen fjord, an arm of the main Ranfjorden. On the western side of Utskarpen is the intersection with Norwegian County Road 17 and Norwegian County Road 12. The neighboring villages are Mæla to the north and Myklebustad to the west. Utskarpen has a kindergarten, a primary and secondary school, and a nursing home. The Utskarpen Museum was opened on 23 October 1999. The village has been in the three municipalities. Sør-Rana is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1929 until 1964 (Hemnes Municipality was also named ''Sør-Rana'' from 1838 until 1844). Sør-Rana encompassed an area on both sides of the middle section of the Ranfjorden around where the Sørfjorden and Elsfjorden branch off the main fjord. Nord-Rana (historically: ''Mo herred'') is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1839 until its dissolution in 1964. Nesna is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the Helgeland traditional region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Nesna. Other villages in Nesna include Handnesneset, Husby, Saura, and Vikholmen. The municipality consists of the three islands Tomma, Hugla (known as "Hugløy" by its inhabitants), and Handnesøya, and one peninsula that bears the name of the municipality, Nesna.
