My Official Wife (1926 Film)
''My Official Wife'' is a 1926 silent film by Austrian director Paul L. Stein, and his first American film. It stars Irene Rich and Conway Tearle. It is an adaptation of the 1891 novel ''My Official Wife'' by Richard Henry Savage (which had been filmed once before in 1914 by the Vitagraph Company of America with Clara Kimball Young as the lead), but the storyline was updated to include World War I. Cast Reception Reviews were extremely mixed. Sidney Bracey (born Sidney Bracy; 18 December 1877 – 5 August 1942) was an Australian-born American actor. After a stage career in Australia, on Broadway and in Britain, he performed in more than 320 films between 1909 and 1942. ''The Evening World'' was a newspaper that was published in New York City from 1887 to 1931. It was owned by Joseph Pulitzer, and served as an evening edition of the ''New York World.'' History The first issue was on October 10, 1887. It was published daily, except for Sunday. The final publication was on February 26, 1931. It was merged with ''New York World'' and the ''New York Telegram'' and became the ''New York World-Telegram''. Florence Wagner (née Welch) was an American screenwriter and journalist. Biography Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Florence embarked on a career as a journalist, working at ''The Topeka Daily Herald'' and ''The Topeka Daily Capital'' as a European correspondent, among other beats.
