Mutiara FM (literally meaning Pearl FM, stylised as MUTIARA fm) is a Malay language-regional radio station operated by Radio Televisyen Malaysia, broadcasting out of the Penang state capital George Town in Malaysia. It broadcasts every day in Malay from 06:00 until 00:00 featuring local news and national music. Etymology The station was formerly known as Radio Malaysia Pulau Pinang and Radio 3 Pulau Pinang. The current name, used since 1 April 2005 after rebranding, is based on the state's nickname in Malay language – Pulau Mutiara (The Island of Pearls). Melaka FM (English: Malacca FM) is a regional Malay language radio station operated by Radio Televisyen Malaysia out of the state capital of Malacca, Malaysia. Transmissions started in 1946 from the Stadthuys building. Broadcasts are daily in Malay from 06:00 to 00:00 featuring local news and Malaysian music. It transmits on FM 102.3 MHz from Gunung Ledang. The Melaka FM transmissions were formerly on AM 1008 kHz, until 2002. It can be received statewide as well as in some parts of Johor, Negeri Sembilan, south west Pahang (Bandar Tun Abdul Razak and Bandar Muadzam Shah) and part of Selangor (Sungai Pelek and Tanjung Sepat). Balik Pulau
Balik Pulau is a town within the jurisdiction of Penang Island City Council in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at the southwest of Penang Island, it is also the administrative seat of the Southwest Penang Island District. Raja Uda
Tun Sir Raja Uda Al-Haj bin Raja Muhammad (1894 – 17 October 1976) was a Malaysian statesman during the country's struggle for independence and its early years of nationhood. He was a civil servant under the British Malaya, British colonial administration, and eventually rose to important administrative positions within the government. Burmah Road, George Town
Burmah Road is a major thoroughfare in the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is one of the main roads leading out of the city centre to the suburbs, stretching from the heart of George Town towards Pulau Tikus. Along its western section, the long Burmah Road cuts through the centre of Pulau Tikus, serving as the main thoroughfare for the suburb as well. Burmah Road is one of the few places worldwide that was named after the nation state of Burma (now Myanmar). As its name implies, the road was once home to a significant Burmese community.
