Mutchilba is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Mareeba, in Far North Queensland, Australia. It is known for its production of mangoes. Geography Mutchilba is on the Atherton Tableland, south-west of Cairns via the Captain Cook Highway, Kennedy Highway and State Route 27. From further west it can be accessed via the Burke Developmental Road. The town is located in the north-west of the locality on the Mareeba-Dimbulah Road west of Mareeba. The Tablelands railway line is a railway line in North Queensland, Australia. It was opened in a series of sections between 1887 and 1916. It commences at Cairns and at its maximum extent, reached Ravenshoe at the southern end of the Atherton Tableland. Burke Developmental Road
The Burke Developmental Road is a Queensland (Australia) developmental road. It links Cloncurry and Normanton in a south–north direction, then turns to the north-east north of Normanton for before turning south-east till Dimbulah, where it becomes the Mareeba Dimbulah Road. The road crosses the Gilbert River. This bridge was named after two of the region's indigenous leaders, Lily and Jubilee Slattery. A major unsealed section begins about north of Normanton and continues until Chillagoe. As of 2014, some sections totaling about are unsealed between Chillagoe and Dimbulah.
